Balance Beam

I became familiar with this balance beam when I was in PT. I was working on some lateral ankle issues and walking backward and forward on this helped me stabilize and build core strength. After PT I wanted on for home use and was surprised I found it here! The quality is identical to the one I was using at PT and I know it will last for a long time. I will say that it slides easily so using on a rug would be ideal. I'm working my way up to walking with my eyes closed in a heel to toe fashion. If you need a great training tool this will help you out.

I've had calcaneus surgery and subtular fusion. I used this beam at physical therapy and it helped . So I purchased my own for home. My wife even uses it !

What a perfect accessory to add to my home exercise room! It allows me to challenge my balance (and my husband's) in fun and creative ways, to get me out of my comfort zone, and to strengthen the muscles in my feet as well as my core.

After a hospital stay my 92 year old mother needed balance and endurance therapy. The balance beam although hard work for her, has helped a lot. This is worthwhile, I made it a rule she had to use it everyday. I set it up in the hallway and she walked sideways down and back, then rested and walked toe to heel down and back and then rested. Every week she improved, after 6 to 8 weeks she could do the whole routine and only needed to rest at the end of it and was walking around the house with her cane. There were other exercises we did everyday, but I felt this made the most difference.

The same balance beam used at my physical therapy center. It lets me practice at home. It is small enough to push under the couch to stay out of the way when not in use.

Product was wider than what is used at PT. When I went to return it the cost was $45. I didn't use it and put it back in the box as soon as I saw how large it was. But $45 to return it? I won't be purchasing any item from this seller again.

I think this item might be a tad bit overpriced...time will tell if it lasts...my PT says I need a lot of work on my balance though and this really does help in that regard...I just hope it lasts...if it does then its worth the buy...

Tried to use the beam on hardwood, tile, silicone pads and low very thick carpet. Beam would walk on all surfaces making it a fall risk. Returned it and had to pay 23.00 for postage from PA to NJ. Very disappointed. I wanted this to work for me.
