Douglas Common Sense Polyester Minnow Seines

Great net but beware of the made in china knockoff. I purchased one not to long ago and got a cheap china knockoff. HUGE difference in the material. The Chinese one seems like its more nylon more like fishing line, its much slower and has more resistance to pull it thru the water. Where as the made in USA one is more polyester, softer material that is MUCH easier to pull thru the water. Less work to catch more bait. Only downfall of the made in USA one is it easier to get hung on rocks and rip but trust me its worth it.

We lost out drag net in hurricane Sandy. It has been in our family for generations (odd thing to loose and feel sad about, but there you go). My 1st trip fishing after loosing the drag net, and I was shocked at the cost of bait!! Oh My Goodness!! Anyway, this is the 1st net I ever bought, so didn't know what I was doing/looking for, but I took a chance and bought this. I used zip ties to connect it to 2 dowel rods (1 at either end), and we were good to go in under 10 minutes. I probably will drill holes in the dowels at some point, but that's just because I'm OCD. We dragged for spearing in the bay, and it was tremendously successful. In 2 days it paid for itself, and dragging for bait is often more fun then fishing (especially with little kids). The bait we were after were about 2 inch long, and a bit under a cm thick, and this net was perfect for that.

these nets are very good nets for small creeks and ponds. my son borrows my husband's net all the time so i purchased this one for my son's birthday. some days he uses it for catching bait fish and other days he uses it just to see what is in the local waters. Nothing bad to say about Douglas Net company. Received the item very quickly---before estimated delivery date. Packaged well. would buy from them again in the future.

Net is brown, lead weights need to be heavier, foam floats need to be larger. No good for Koi, they will outsmart you...Anyone want to buy this from me? Used once, dried and stored.

These are the same ones my dad bought when I was a kid. They're a little stiff when you first break them out, but use them a few times and they soften up a bit and work great.I bought two of these to put in a survival pack for when I'm out exploring. A couple of tree branches and you have dinner! You ca also use them to trap, or to make a blind or a ghillie suit. I would imagine using a couple of the 4 x 8s together would make a decent wilderness hammock. And they're light and take up almost no space. Invaluable.

It is pretty good, can be a little difficult to use against even a mild current by yourself. Takes a little getting used to.

lots of net for very little money...i use this for all kinds of around the home projects as well as for recreation.

I bought this because I could not find any netting for a craft project. This minnow net contraption is so impressively built with its weight and floaters. It's sturdy looking. I cannot bear to destroy it for my application. I have put it in the camping tool bucket :)
