Made in the USA from America steel! Gets my vote every time! Excellent tool.

The rivet and grooves are roughly machined, a piece of steel has been gouged during shipping/ manufacturing. The action is not smooth and very gritty. These are a vast improvement over the other Made in USA Kleins i have used, but they are a Knipex copy and the quality is not as good as the Knipex Alligators.

Let me start by saying that I'm a huge Klein fan. This is the first ever item that I've gotten from them that I would not recommend. I bought these because the pair of Doyle 10" Water Pump Pliers (with the button lock) didn't open as far as these do when the handles were spread. I am so disappointed in these pliers. I carried them for several weeks as an Industrial Maintenance Tech, and now I'm back to using the vastly superior (and cheaper, and lifetime warrantied) Doyle pliers. Firstly, I thought the mechanism in these pliers to select the size you'd like would be an improvement over the pushbutton slide the Doyle pair has. It is not. It's finicky, hard to seat, and nearly impossible to change with one hand. The Doyle pair does not have this problem. Secondly, they just don't grip the same. They have fewer overall detents for sizing, which means that it's difficult to actually get a bolt or round part gripped BY THE PART OF THE JAWS THAT HAVE TEETH. The Doyle grip astoundingly well. Did I mention that I can walk into any HF and swap my Doyles out of something happens? Save yourself money and trouble, go elsewhere for this style of pliers.
