Great charger and value. Simple install and app setup. Connects via Monta app, the unit has WiFi and Ethernet connections. Works with WiFi 6 too. I previously had a EO unit that did not connect via WiFi or Ethernet and would require resetting after each use. Have used for a week now and no issues. Build seems great for price. Has a minimalist design and isn’t that much bigger than it competitors. Great, simple to use charger and at a fraction of the cost.

UPDATE April 2026! There is a product firmware update and new Sync Energy App available which significantly improves the operation,offers the firmware update and creates timer scheduling of the Masterplug Charger! Now the single Sync Energy App controls both WiFi connectivity and user scheduling! I chose this Masterplug EV charger because of the known Brand and 3 year guarantee rather than several alternatives also sold by Amazon! Physical installation was in Sept 2025 and very straightforward to replace my 11year old 3Kw charger which had suddenly failed! The Masterplug unit is quite a neat size and fitted on my garage wall directly over the cable entry point with a rubber grommet seal. After installing new cabling and 32A breakers the Masterplug unit was ready to commission! There is a small sticker on the instructions sheet giving the Masterplug unit Name and Password which is needed as you register your details through the Sync Energy App. Be careful to keep this paperwork safe in case you need to re-install the charger at any time in the future I simply wanted a timed use in line with my night time EV energy tariff in order to charge my car overnight and the new Sync Energy App does exactly what I need! The previously required two smart phone Apps [Masterplug and the Monta App] are now completely redundant and superseded by the Sync Energy App from April 2026 So in Summary, I really like the build quality of this charger !! It has worked well so far. I also bought a supplemental charger plug wall bracket on Amazon which holds the charger plug more securely than the Masterplug unit.

Really happy with this charger, found this on Amazon for £70 cheaper than what I had originally paid so returned to the store and purchased on Amazon, have had no issues with this charger and the app is so user friendly

--- October update --- 3 issues have been identified during 1 month of usage. 1. Maximum charge rate I get is 6.7kWh and not 7.4kWh. 2. The "MP EV Charging app" lets you adjust the brightness of the LED, but I see no difference between 1% and 100% indicating the setting is faulty. 3. The WiFi connection drops and reconnects at least once a week. This does not interrupt charging though. --- First review --- I took a chance on this charger since I couldn't find much details on this device or any decent reviews and so here is my review of the device. Preface: I am not an electrician, but I am a talented amateur when it comes to installing simple appliances and wiring them up. Installation: There is nothing out of the ordinary for installation because the device is made to be easy to install. You need 4 screws (not supplied) to fix the case to the wall and then you feed the cable in through the back or like I did from the bottom. While it is possible to install this on your own, it will definitely be much easier if you do it with a partner to help you hold things into place. Configuration step 1: You will need to install 2 apps for this device. The first is the "MP EV Charging" app (Android and iPhone) which you use to configure the charger. The app allows you to connect it to your home network, configure the max amperage draw, and as test the RCD switch. Using the app is really simple with big buttons and an uncluttered screen. Just read what the app asks of you and you'll be fine. Configuration step 2: When step 1 is complete, you'll be using the Monta app to manage and monitor the charger. The app lets you set scheduled charging or swipe to charge etc... You will need to connect your charger to the Monta app, but there is a QR Code you can scan to make this easier. Build quality: The device is all hardened plastic which makes me question its longevity when exposed to the elements, but it's early days so we'll see how it goes. Pros: Easy to install, easy to configure, easy to use. Con 1: Monta App requires you to set an address on the charge point, but I suppose you can just use a fake address if you want to hide your home address. Con 2: There is no cover for the screws. Overall I am happy with the device and it's been charging the whole time I was writing this review with no faults or the RCD tripping. I'll come back in October and December with updates on the device.

I am impressed. First off, the length is perfect for my needs, giving me much more flexibility when parking. I don’t have to worry about being right next to the charging station anymore. The cable itself feels very durable and weather-resistant. The charging speed is consistent and reliable, and I love how easy it is to plug in and disconnect. It doesn’t tangle which was a problem with my previous cable. This one just works smoothly every time, and the quality is apparent in every aspect of the design. The battery life holds up well, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how far I can go on a single charge, even with city driving. I’m very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to any EV owner looking for a longer, more versatile charging solution.

Installed yesterday and easy to set up. Has synced with our eon tariff and first charge went well!

The PEN protection on this unit was either faulty or overly sensitive. It came up with a ground failure fault on first start up which did not clear no matter what I did. This continued post firmware up date. At first I thought I had a fault on my PME / TN-C-S system. However, I installed an Ohme unit and it started up first time. I have since returned the Masterplug unit.

Very unstable/unusefull app. Loading current not adjustable in the app after installation. No explanation how the solar/loading is set. The hardware is good, the software not so much.

Great charger! Supports custom ocpp servers to control the charger speed. Made a custom plugin for HA to control charging speed according to solar power and home battery level

Il prodotto sembra valido, ma l’app di gestione è molto limitata, tanto da impedire qualsiasi riconfigurazione sulla corrente da erogare dopo lo startup. Peccato, con queste limitazioni è sconsigliato

Buscaba uno con carga dinámica y de momento va muy bien da a veces algunos errores de voltaje, entiendo que será en mi casa que baja , de momento carga a 4,8 que es lo máximo que tengo en casa y la carga dinámica perfecto para que no me salte
