Genuin grey SB50 housings and 10-12AWG terminals
I've been gradually moving all of my 12V batteries and inverters over to grey SB50 connectors but so far I've been buying premade cables. Sometimes I've been splicing premade SB50 cables onto items which isn't the smartest thing to do so after watching a few videos I decided to be brave and ordered these to see if I could fit these to my Mastervolt AC Master 12/500W inverter which comes with prefitted 10AWG cables. I snipped the rings off the ends of the cables a while a go and spliced a couple of 10AWG SB50 cables which worked fairly well but the splice would begin to get slightly warm under load. In the bag you get two grey SB50 housings and 4 10-12AWG terminals. After removing the electrical tape from the splice I managed to crimp the terminals onto the ends of the inverter's cable first time but you do have to use a lot of force. After tugging hard on the newly crimped cable nothing came loose so slotting the contacts into the housing was fairly easy. The first time however I didn't hear a firm click so when connecting the housing to another SB50 the terminals fell out of the housing but on the second attempt there was a reassuring loud click from both the red and black cables and this time the connection was rock solid. I've ran the inverter with a 300W load and yanked on the cables with the terminals remaining firmly seated in the housing without the cables falling out so a job extremely well done. Now there is no heat build up at the end of the cable and there is no voltage loss at the connection. I'm going to be ordering a few more of these to use with other 12V items as I absolutely love the SB50. Finally I should mention you don't need to use the official Anderson crimper you can use any half decent crimper just fine but please make sure you jam down hard on the pins so you get a rock solid crimp on the first attempt. Slotting the terminals into the housing is fairly easy but just make sure you hear a couple of loud clicks as the terminals slot into position then you are all good to go.

Solid connector
Great product for setting up a quick connect charging lead set for infrequently used cars. The only challenge is crimping such a substantive connector; I used the bench vice and a length of 4mm steel bar to compress the centre of the crimp area which did the job nicely.
