You Won't Be Disappointed
If you have a salt water pool, this is an excellent product. I use it to read PH and salt PPM and it's very accurate.

Works if you calibrate every time before use
You need to calibrate it before use otherwise the readings are off by several hundred. It's easier to use than salt test strips and also more cost effective.

Great for salt testing and can be calibrated
Excellent salt tester for a pool. When your salt cell begins to to fail you will need a way to find the true salt content, this is it. Buy the test salt mix to calibrate each year.

Very easy to use and gives accurate readings
I changed from a Hayward T3 salt cell to a generic brand. The new salt cell works fine but it would not calibrate to the actual salt readings. I bought this to use and found it matched my pool stores reading exactly. Very easy to use. I dry it off before I put the cap on and put it away.

Only good for a spot check. Will lead to disaster if you trust it for Marine use.
In December, I received nice salt aquarium for Christmas will all the bells and whistles. However, while bringing it up, i didn't like using the traditional refractometer as it can be hard to see. So I bought this. Everything worked fine for 45 days. Then I performed a water change with water I had made to match the tank. I did the change. Later that night, I use the meter to spot check the tank as that is what you do when you micro manage your marine tank. It read 28ppt. I panicked and began raising the salinity over the next day to 35ppt. All is fine. I thought! Then 95% of my large inverts die. All snails but one, all shrimp but one, all crabs but one, and all copepods. I cannot figure it out, checking everything. Next, my coral. All but 4 frags die. 2 of those very ill. I run an ICP test my water comes back perfect with the exception I'm at 44ppt. I assume something could be wrong on their end and took my tester to my son's house and put them side by side. His read 35ppt in his tank, and mine reads 27.5. Never trust this when you have animals lives at stake. If something seems off get the refractometer out. This device and my trust cost me about $500 bucks in livestock.

Seemed reliable. Keep it out of water though.
This was giving comparable results to the lamotte reader. I’m able to read the number just fine. Kinda reliable and was good value for the price. It’s not durable though. I submerged it in a pool for a couple seconds and it’s now completely dead. No fixing it now.I’m going for the lamotte one again.
