Now, I'm asking someone who OWNS this Janus Pocket ... What is the ACTUAL width (in inches) of the female buckle?

The buckle is for a 2" strap. Here is the product page from the manufacturer. http://www.duraflexgroup.com/productDetail.aspx?id=36&sort=backpackIf you own another Maxpedition bag with a 2" strap, it will fit. Otherwise you can either change the straps on your bag or remove the strap from the Janus and slip it through your bag's strap (that's what I did). PS. It is the one accessory that I change from bag to backpack. It helps organize the office on my back.

Would the Janus be comfortable to wear on my regular pants belt?

Yes. I wear mine everyday to hold Samsung Galaxy Note8 Phone with Otterbox Defender Case while also holding miscellaneous items, cash, bank cards, band aids, wired headphones, etc.

How long is the strap?

At maximum extension, the strap on the Janus is 14 inches from end of buckle to end of buckle. I keep my strap close in, so it's about 12 inches from tip to tip and that is plenty for wear with my Jumbo Pack.

Would this work on maxpedition remora gearslinger? thank you!

Yes i use it on my malaga kodiak thermite and prometheus bags with and without extension. It slips out and you can attach it directly to bag strap.
