Cheaply made
I bought the caterpillar variety of this toy and as soon as my cat got hold of it, he immediately ripped its head off and a few minutes later had destroyed one of the other segments as well. Granted, it is a cheap toy, so one can't expect it to last for very long -- but I'd hoped it'd do better than 10 seconds. The toy is attached to a string dangling off the end of a short, plastic rod. It does come with another rod (of equal size) which you can 'insert' into the end of the other rod to extend it, but the attachment isn't very strong and bends very easily (so it won't withstand a cat's feisty paws for very long). I'd still recommend using the attachment because if you're using the shorter rod then your hand will be dangerously close to your cat's claws.Positives? Well, the catnip scent was quite strong for the cat as he aggressively pursued it for the first couple of days, until he got bored of it from the third day onwards (whether that is due to the scent wearing off or him becoming desensitised to the smell, or perhaps a combination of both, I'm not sure). However, similar toys are available from Poundland (which despite being cheaper than this toy, are more entertaining -- especially due to the bell and the fact that the rod is made of wood and not plastic, which my cat likes to pause to bite on every now and then).

Instant reaction
I've had ones like these and the elastic won't last long as my cat is a complete savage. But she meowed for it as soon as she saw it (never happened before) and has been ripping into it for the last half an hour. The caterpillar bit is a good length so she can kick it with her back paws.

My Cat Loved It!
Upon opening, I was a little bit let down. The handle/wand is made of plastic and comes in two pieces which clip together. Unfortunately, this means that if your kitten/cat gets a bit boisterous when playing, the force of them snatching the toy at the end can cause the wand to become unclipped. It’s not the end of the world, however. My cat took to the toy immediately, so I’m sure he’d give it full marks!

Paws up from the cat
I've ticked "I love it" on the star rating but I don't really love it. Sylvester the cat does. He seeks it out. There's rarely a day when I don't play with it and him. Once, when it was hidden behind my chair, he sought it out and somehow launched the spider so that it whacked against my face. The product has design flaws from a human perspective. The stick comes in two halves, and you need to jam them together. Needless to say, this doesn't really work when the cat is tugging at the stick, so I ended-up sellotaping them together.

What fun!
Great teaser toy for my two new kittens Wand is in two parts which you push fit together has not come apart whilst in use which is good. The caterpillar does pick up fluff which is easy to remove when you check it post playing. The brown string is elastic. It is possible to reduce the want back into two parts for ease of storage.

Broke first use - don’t leave unsupervised.
Arrived quicker than expected which was great but had to put the wand stick together as well as it beings attached by elastic string. Looked okay but when one of my cats caught it the first time it snapped in his mouth so he tried to suck the string up. Not happy at all as choking hazard. Glad I never leave them unsupervised with toys like this but never expected it to break within 10 seconds of use

I don’t know why my cat loves it
The butterfly want is very tiny, flimsy and cheaply made. I was actually pretty disappointed when I opened it up. My cat, however, is completely obsessed. He’s got good quality expensive toys that he’s completely uninterested in. I’ve never seen him get so excited about a toy and he won’t play with anything else. They’re so cheap I don’t mind replacing it regularly or buying multiple.I really don’t understand why he loves the butterfly so much but I guess he’s saving me some money.

Wow! Get this for your cat!
My almost 11 year old senior tom cat went mental for this! Must be potent! as he looked possessed a couple times!Moves great too if you drag along floor. He ripped a couple legs off 1st play but he is a big tom cat and but I still think it was worth it. I imagine I will buy another when he has fully killed this one.At the price I believe it's worth the risk of your cat potentially having as much fun as mine has.
