So great for so little money!
I really like this small, 1 TB storage device. Because it is SSD, it provides a speedy response. I bought this not only for storage, but also as a possible working hard drive for my computer, for video editing. I recently bought a new computer, due to the "end of life" mandate for windows 10. The new computer has a 2 TB hard drive and I wanted an extra TB for more room to store files and to work. But it had no easy way to add a hard drive internally. I added this to my computer by attaching it to the leg of the monitor desk and I just leave it attached, so it is always available for storage or work. It amazes me how cheap you can get a 1 TB hard drive these days. And even though it is not a true internal drive, it seems just as fast as one. I'm happy with this purchase.

Great value, easily added 1TB to our new Tablo DVR, got rid of cable and Satellite TV!
So we recently got rid of our cable/satellite TV (just too much $) and replaced it with a Tablo. The ONLY thing I wasn't a fan of on the Tablo is that is has very small internal memory for recordings (Tablo is also a DVR, WOW!). However they designed it with a USB port for an external hard drive! My Tablo came w/ 128G memory, and I found out I was always having to delete stuff to make room. Connected this 1TB solid state drive into my Tablo and WOW! We've had it well over a month now and it's like 14% full! I almost got the 2TB but so far we are doing great with this 1TB drive, love it, works great, good price! Bye Bye cable and satellite TV!

Small and portable
I bought this to back up my iPad. I like the size of the drive. It's small and portable. I will say the transfer rate isn't the best, but it works for what I need. This little guy does tend to heat up. Also, it will drain your iPad, if you're doing extended file transfers. In terms of design, I kind of wish there was a way to clip the drive onto carabiner clip. Something like that. Or a small drawstring bag to keep the cord and drive in?The drive is affordable, especially for being a 1 TB drive. I plan to purchase a couple more, for redundancy and for my laptop.

It is fast.
Review of SSK 1TB SSD thumb drive. This is an external SSD (Solid State Drive), not an external HDD (Hard Disk Drive). Note the differences are important. An SSD is small, fast, and rugged. The little SSD can be dropped or shaken or bumped. Since there are no mechanical moving parts in an SSD, they will last for years as an internal drive because they are powered more often. The major problem with SSDs is that if left unpowered for more than a year, the data may get corrupted. Thus longterm archive storage as a thumb drive may be a problem. Basically as an SSD is written to, it charges/discharges tiny solidstate cells. That charge can dissipate over time and data is lost. So if using an external SSD remember to power it up every now again.I was able to clone a 512gb SSD internal drive within about 20 minutes. So this drive is FAST.

DUD off the BOX
Fast shipping, but...I do not know if either manufacturer or seller is at fault...Opened the item, everything in-box. Noted that the front side of the drive had some "scratches", which I would've dismissed if it worked.Plugged into Mac. Drive appears, 1.02 TB available (took a bit to load for some odd reason as it is empty, but still trusting it).Try to drag and drop a zipped 2GB file I have been waiting to get off my computer... sits idling... Mac progress bar back and forwards, as in calculating... nothing... "Cannot complete task as Drive Disappeared".Disconnect, try a second USBC port in my Mac... SAME.Either I got a Lemon, a used-defective item, or this is just junk.I placed my return asap, and will be mailing it back tomorrow.I wish I did not see some reddish flags before it malfunctioned... hence the reason why I believe I was tricked by seller rather than the manufacturer.

Quality counts.
When you want to go longevity distances with your computer, get this. It's an SSD and I use it for backup. My Apple products (two computers and a laptop) chew through cheap external hard drives like technological pihrannas. (Non SSD external hard drives). It's good to have something sturdy you can count on. This is just such a gadget. Of course, I didn't like paying the price, but when you need quality, you have to bite the tech bullet and make up the loss somewhere else. It's small, easy to use, and has a very large storage capacity which I need for my endless stream of images and saved information and documents. So far, it's kept up fairly well in 90 degree heat with a small fan on the computer day and night. I've only had it since May, so we have a while yet to test it.
