It is sturdy and swings easily out of the way. Just make a note of the Lot # before installation.
I love this product! I got this for an elderly relative who likes eating her meals while seated on the sofa watching tv. A regular tray table would have posed a tripping hazard, would have to be picked up and moved in and out of place, and could easily be knocked over. It just wouldn't have worked. By contrast, the Wonder Tray table assembly is held securely in place under the sofa feet, and the table top swings freely out of the way when not in use. My relative doesn't need any assistance to use it. Product support from Stander is great too. I had a question and they quickly responded to my inquiry and handled my issue more than satisfactorily. Just make sure you make a note of the Lot # of the product before you install it under the furniture legs, because the Lot # is on sticker on the underside of a bottom plate. The company will ask for the Lot # if you ever need product support. I bought an earlier version of this Stander tray table years ago when I needed a spacious keyboard tray under a table that I was using for a desk. The table top was too high for the keyboard, and the center drawer prevented me from attaching a keyboard tray to the underside of the table. The Stander tray table is adjustable in height, fits neatly under the desk, and swings out of the way when I don't need it. I use it every day. Some may think it is a little pricey but it has been exactly what I needed in more than one situation and well worth it. It is easily assembled, sturdy, adjustable, unique, and versatile. I love it.

This will change your life
Few products are life-changing. This certainly changed mine. For everyone who spends a lot of time at home working on a laptop, the ability to do this on a completely stable surface that swivels easily out of your way while sitting on your comfortable couch (instead of on the floor) is amazing. Especially if you are older, and getting up and down from the floor all day (no matter how comfortable your cushions and backrest are), gets tiresome. I own three laptop riser stands, of different heights and weights, and they greatly improved my ease in using my laptop in the living room (who wants to sit at their office desk all day?) But the problem with riser stands, especially those with taller extendable legs, is that they are not stable. I learned this the hard way when my big high-end ASUS laptop got knocked off the riser onto the floor. It cost me $500+ to replace the motherboard ! After that experience, I finally relented and bought this laptop stand/TV tray table. I hesitated because of the price and because I didn't want a piece of 'furniture' in front of my couch all the time. But I wish I had bought this product a long time ago, because it is great -- not only as a laptop stand, but also as a TV tray for eating at. The best part is that you can adjust the tray to any height you like (not pre-set increments like risers) and just push the tray lightly to the side when you are ready to get up off the couch. The tray swivels easily in many directions, so you can leave your laptop or food on it without fear that anything will tip over. It is a large and very stable surface. The assembly was pretty easy. The tray comes with all the tools you need. It took me a few hours, but I am a middle-aged woman who does not have a lot of 'home improvement' skills. If you can assemble a piece of IKEA furniture, you can assemble this. I see that some reviewers complained that this table does not fit under their armchairs, and I can see how that may be a problem. But if you have a couch, you will not have an issue. The base of the stand slides to fit a pretty big range of depths (the distance between your front and back legs, and then you simply tighten the bolts to keep it stable. Similarly, the height is easily adjustable to clear your couch arm, and you tighten the bolt when you are happy with the result. No more backache/neck ache from bending over to use your laptop! You can position it as close or far as you want. This is a simple but great product. I only wish I had bought this years ago. A++++

Would be perfect, if not for the base, but itโs still terrific
TL/DR: If you ignore the rather institutional look, this is a terrific sofa/chair table from a functional and ergonomic standpoint. Itโs sturdy, and the table arm and rotating table top both swing easily, but not TOO easily, so they donโt inappropriately move with use. The table is a generous size without feeling too big, and the table top is a nice, sturdy, natural bamboo. The various adjustments allow a custom, ergonomic fit that works with most furniture, although furniture leg type affects how well. Itโs also reasonably priced given the quality and features. While the base is not ideally suited to my reclinerโs base, I do not regret my purchase and highly recommend. =========================================== I suffer from physical disability and chronic pain issues related to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and its many comorbidities. As Iโve aged, things have gotten bad enough that function and comfort increasingly win over beauty or cool factor. I love โattractiveโ, but I NEED items that enhance my quality of life! I recently broke down and bought a La-Z-Boy power rocker-recliner - and the most comfortable one for my body, NOT the most suited to my decor. TOTALLY recommend getting one, regardless of your physical status or design style! Just amazing comfort! Going all in on comfort and function, I paired my beloved La-Z-Boy with this Able Life Universal Swivel TV Tray table, and itโs now my favorite spot in the house. Iโm not much of a TV person, and I canโt play video games until Iโve healed from recent hand surgery, so Iโm enjoying my recovery downtime reading and consuming content on my iPad Pro. This tray table has been perfect for (mostly) hands-free, ergonomic reading. Anyone looking for a way to work, game, craft, or eat from a chair or sofa can benefit from this versatile table. In my setup, my iPad Pro hovers over the tray table via a Lamicall Gooseneck Tablet holder, for reading and browsing content. The awesome Feker Alice 80 wireless keyboard sits at the ready for typing and one-key page turning. The table also holds my iPhone, my La-Z-Boy recliner remote, my reading and/or regular eyeglasses (stored in one of those desktop, faux fur-lined, dual eyeglass holders), a dandy leather โJotletโ discbound notepad by Levenger, a nice pen, lip balm, hand cream, dry eye drops, etc. Instead of the plastic cup holder sold for this table, I picked up a more attractive, wood and metal, clamp-on cup holder from IKEA. I love mine, but third party options will likely come with the caveat that they rest below the table top vs. flush with it, like Able Lifeโs, so do keep in mind leg room needs/cup holder placement. I highly recommend a cup holder of SOME sort, as it frees up table space and eliminates the risk of spills. The reason for one star off is unfortunately the suboptimal and needlessly frumpy base. Its unattractiveness would be insignificant if the design actually worked for my situation, but it doesnโt. While itโs adjustable, the base is just too unnecessarily tall, and itโs too narrowly designed, as itโs made specifically to work with chairs and sofas that have corner โfeetโ. My recliner doesnโt have feet. Instead, the flat wood base runs front to back under each side of the recliner in a single piece per side (I think itโs called a sled base?). As the tray table is currently designed, my reclinerโs one-piece, left-side โsledโ base canโt make contact with the rubber pads, but instead floats on the metal rim of the front and back sections of the table base. Because of this, my lightweight recliner slides over, and eventually OFF, the tableโs base when I get up. This means I have to lift and move my recliner BACK onto the table base multiple times daily, with my (severely carpal/cubital tunnel affected) โgoodโ hand and arm (spoiler: theyโre not good at all), since my left is bandaged and stitched due to recent surgery. Mind you, this tray table is marketed to the elderly and infirm! Able Life needs to take heed of how the Vivo Swivel Couch Desk incorporates a FLAT metal base - a great choice in an otherwise inferior quality design. The flat base is more versatile, accommodating more chair leg/base styles, while creating less of an imbalance in height between the left and right sides of a chair or couch. It also looks more modern and less โnursing home chicโ than the current base, especially because itโs black and not โindustrial medical brownโ. Iโm actually debating finding someplace local to unweld and swap out the table base, assuming itโs possible, to better suit my needs. Having said that, I did a lot of research before choosing the Able Life tray table, and it was THE best overall option when looking at a combination of function, quality, price, looks, and availability, so I donโt regret the purchase - and again, I strongly recommend.

Stander Wonder + Recliner = Work from Home in Comfort
Just received this and after putting more than my share of IKEA furniture together, I set aside an hour to get it put together. I'm not sure what to do with the extra 55 minutes after getting it put together so I figured I'd write a review. Installation couldn't be more simple. When I saw there were only 3 screws and an allen wrench, I assumed that I was missing a big bag of hardware somewhere. Nope. Really that's required to get this together. I had it together in 5 minutes. It might take you longer but seriously no more than 10 minutes and this will be up and running. I've only been using it for 20 minutes, but I'm writing this review with my Macbook on the swivel tray and it hasn't broken yet! It's fairly sturdy. There is a little wobble - but no more than I would have expected. Not that I'd recommend it, but I've swing this all of the way out with my Mac on it and no concerns. It's actually only a little wobbly it seems because of the weight of my arms and movement as I type. Unexpectedly, (I didn't read the whole product description) it came with 3 cable management clips and they work like a charm. I honestly review almost nothing, but just had to note what a good product this is. Well made, easy to assemble, and functional. Couldn't ask for more.

works great as a computer table
I got the Able Life Universal Swivel for a keyboard and monitor stand for my wife. The computer sits on the floor, the keyboard and mouse sit on the Able-Life, and the monitor attaches to a VESA arm that attaches to the Able-Life. For the application, the Able Life works beautifully. My wife likes how it looks, it is well made, and went together quickly. The bamboo table pivots around, the supporting arm swings, and the height is adjustable in discrete points (spaced a few inches apart; with a click to lock it in vertical position). The two legs of our couch sit on the two legs of the Able Life to hold it steady. There are two large screws that attached at the "elbow" down at the floor to hold the vertical section in place. There there are two separate set-screws that control the leg-to-leg adjustment. The only iffy bit is the leveling adjustment of the bamboo tray table. There are two screws underneath the unit that are screwed up to level the table. I'm not sure why they just can't make it level without these added fiddly bits, but they seem to work OK in leveling the unit. Otherwise, the Able-Life is strong, well made, and sturdy. Other posters commented that it is wobbly. This is probably those leveling screws loosening. So keep the supplied Allen wrench handy... I have an 8.8 pound LCD monitor (Amazon# B01LPNKFK) attached to an 8.4 pound monitor stand (Amazon# B00AIWFNUW). The keyboard and mouse are on the bamboo tabletop also. The whole thing works nicely. So my wife sits on the couch on the left side. When she wants to do "computer things", she pivots the bamboo table around and computes. When she's done, she swings it back around and out of the way. We got this setup and a Mac Pro to replace her previous MacBookPro laptop which died. We were disappointed in the new MacBookPro (2017) and she decided to go with a Mac Pro cylinder instead. So we had to convert her previous "laptop setup" to a "desktop setup". In this regard, the Able-Life worked out great. It is definitely doing something beyond what it was designed to do.

"Adjustable" does not equal "Universal". This is adjustable. Not universal.
This was the only swing away/swivel couch table I could find, and that part works well. The table does not tilt, but it turns. You have the swivel arm that pivots from the vertical bar, but the table also spins from the center attachment point. (not loosely, you have to move it on purpose) Great when you want to turn your laptop to show someone something or reach an accessory. The foot pad thingies do not come close enough together to use with a power recliner. Not across the front or the side. I might be able to take the adjustment bar in somewhere and have it cut down, but until then, hubby cut a square of plywood about 6" bigger than the chair base on all sides. And we shoved the feet of this table under that, and put smaller blocks under the other side so the chair isn't cattywampus from having the table base under it on one side. Except now the chair slides around very easily. Not ideal when you have mobility issues. The bar that the tabletop attaches to hits my legs because of the workaround to use the not-actually-universal base. Yes, it's height adjustable, but not in smaller increments. Like, for a chair or a bed or different types of couches. Not for if the bar hits you in the legs because you had to build something to make it fit. I'm going to have to drill a new hole in order to make this work. They need to make it adjust to a smaller distance between the front and back feet of the table. I see many other reviews saying it does not fit their chair or couch, too. I don't think "universal" means what the manufacturer thinks it does. Assembly was easy enough, and the directions were easy to follow even if the print was miniscule. Have a couple paper towels on hand when you unpack it - the base had grease all over the underside. I'm a bit salty that the accessories are all add on purchases instead of just included. The table has predrilled holes that are mostly in the correct spots (not all were) for the accessories, so it's not like the accessories were so new the table couldn't be packaged with them. I seriously don't think a cupholder is a $15 item, but anything for a buck a guess. The accessories come with four screws each, and there are predrilled holes in the bottom of the tabletop for them. The junk tray only goes in one spot, but the cupholder has two locations it could be placed. Just line up the holes in the accessory with the pre-drilled holes and screw the screws in. On mine, three of four holes were correctly placed on each item. The fourth hole wasn't even visible when the other three were lined up. Fortunately, the wood is soft enough that you can still screw the last screw in. The table arm is too short. It needs another arm the same length so it can sort of accordion in or out for precise placement, or even just a longer one in the first place. The table does not come in front of you, even if you could pull it across your lap without bruising your legs. It comes about halfway. So I can sit with this at an angle to me and twist to the side a bit to type. Not great when you thought you could use this to work from home, or even just to use more than a few minutes at a time. I still have room to hold a child on my lap when the desk is in place. TLDR: + swivel/swing away tabletop with wide range of motion + tabletop can be spun completely around + sturdy construction + does not look like a hospital bed table + straightforward instructions - definitely not universal - doesn't fit power recliners - undersides of base had grease all over them - building a base to stabilize it makes the tabletop bar hit you in the legs - the base 'feet' only go under one side of your chair so you will be cattywampus unless the chair has leg levelers - instructions text is very small - accessories that it should have come with are overpriced and seperately purchased - accessory holes are pre-drilled, but not all in the right places - does not tilt - table top only comes part of the way in front of you - support arm is too short Final Impression: I can make this work. I built a base that makes it fit and fixes the difference in height from the feet of the base under one side only. Will be able to drill a new height adjustment peg hole so it doesn't hit me in the legs. May be able to cut down the adjustment bar to go short enough that I don't need the built base, and then use leg levelers to fix the difference in height from one side to the other. I can make this work - but for the price, I shouldn't have to.

Mom loves it!
Perfect for my Mom, she is no longer dragging a TV tray across wooden floors - she does forget how to operate it, LOL it just swivels. IT is sturdy and was pretty god value for the cost. Looks good and does not stand out. Easy to assemble and use

Gives more autonomy.
I have vertigo, FMS, and intermittent difficulty gripping things. I had a lap desk, which until this table, was my best option, but it meant I was IKEA Poang chair locked until someone got free to lift the lap desk off of me. Because it was a lap desk I also had items and drinks fall into my chest. This table has none of those issues. It holds the table parallel to the floor (unlike my lap desk that tilted toward me), it also swivels on 2 points in a way I adore. The table top spins all the way around parallel to the ground. So I can turn the top so the opposite side is facing me without having to remove items from it. The movement for the table top is smooth and easy to move without being too easy, which would make things fall off. I noticed online they have instructions on how to adjust the friction of the table top swivel movement. The only issue I have is that the pivot arm that moves the table away from you is too stiff for me. That pivot arm does a full circle movement which is quite handy. I have to focus hard to move it myself. Not impossible or painful (unlike my previous solution), but is something that is not easy for me. Where I do appreciate that I wonโt bump it and move the table away unexpectedly, I do have to make sure when my pain is high to give myself extra time and 2x I had to ask for help, but those were level 8 of 10 on the pain scale days, so not unreasonable. I do expect the arm to be easier to move over years of use, but I could be wrong. I deducted a star because, I had been hesitant to buy this for a year due to the lack of elegance. I had really wanted something beautiful and functional. The 3 other items I got instead, lap desk, L shaped swivel top couch table (L part made sitting in the Poang uneven and uncomfortable for me, plus there was no way to move the tray part out of the way for me to sit by myself and put under the Poang rail just before I sat. Worked great for my love seat, but not for my Poang. The endeavor I got was too awkward to use and did not put a tray over my lap. I can say where I do not find the table I am currently reviewing as attractive, it is not ugly. The positives far outweigh my aversion to its aesthetic and I wish I had bought it a year ago. I have noticed itโs the nicest looking out of the similair ones I have seen. It is a good quality and the bamboo table top adds an unexpected quality that elevates the piece style wise. I was delighted that itโs not so smooth a finish that things slip. They stay, but itโs not rough to the touch. I do deeply enjoy the size. I can eat, put my plate to the corner and play my Nintendo switch using the table top to steady my hands. I love this for that too. Itโs such a well thought out size that I have not installed the cup holder. I just have not felt the need. (I felt the need to add a cup holder to my office desk, kitchen table and Rollator. The fact I donโt feel the need to use this here is unexpected. I would buy again and earlier. I love the independence it gives me.

The table is excellent and fulfils our needs perfectly. My wife is disabled and the table adjustability makes it just right. The actual table top size is just right despite other reviews say it is too small, it isnโt.

Does what it says. Perfect for my use.
You get what you pay for. Had this table for over a year now and still impressed by the functionality and build quality. Tried a few cheaper options but they were limited by inflexible design, lack of sturdiness and generally unsuited to my needs. This table does all I ask it to do. As a bonus, the all-black colour matches my black leather rise and fall recliner perfectly.
