If this is your 1st buy it!! You'll love it!
This does all the right things that you think it should. If you looking for a fast long stroke then this isn't for you. You get what you pay for if you want more power you gotta buy a better unit. The intensity all depends on how tight you are too. If your a tight novice it might struggle a little bit but if your more experienced it will speed up. It was very easy to assemble and get it working as soon as I found a mount for it. The power is fine depending on your level of experience. The sound level also depends on the same.

Second time worked
Arrived defective with the AC/DC power unit not even lighting up when plugged in/turned on. Wired it up properly as shown for positive/negative. Tested outlet used worked with other devices and had power. Pending return/replacement to see if the second one yields better results than the first. Edit: Second one arrived functional. It works to accomplish the task I need it to accomplish. The noise of the gears is abit loud, but it gets less noisy if you hit it inside with some WD40 Isn't as strong as I thought it might be in terms of its lifting power, but it works for what I need it to do

Works well but it's loud
Works well has a great range of speed only thing I don't like is how loud it gets especially when you get up to the higher revolution it's just super loud

No longevity
Worked fine at first, now months later no longer works at all and it was only turned on maybe four or five times for a few minutes at a time.

Excellent Engineering Mechanism
I use this to teach engineering students reciprocating mechanisms. Adapted to test ball point pen retracting life cycle.

Your speed controller is broken, not the motor
The linear actuator stopped functioning, but worked with a bench power supply. If your motor stops working, it's most likely the power supply.

Great lil reciprocating **** machine
Unit runs well and has a good amount of thrusting power as well as a wide range of adjustable speed. If it came with a stand you could mount it to in order to give the unit more flexibility it would be outstanding. Wife loves it, water works everytime.

Really Loud
Really loud and not what I expected. It sounds like the gears are broken
