New Blackberry FAN!
I was very fed up lately with Android, Apple and the pain to type in a touchscreen and have been looking for a Blackberry for a while. However, I didn't want to completely lose the touch screen luxury and I was trying to decide between Blackberry Bold 9790 and 9900! I don't know how I discovered AMAZON WAREHOUSE!!! I read review after review about products, service, etc. Although I was told by Amazon customer service that they can't give me much info about the product, I took the risk and got for 270£ a Bold 9900 'like new' condition. The price was just amazing, since I was just about to buy the 9790 for 320£!! I was sooo impatient that I ordered it Friday morning and chose 'next day' delivery (not express). The box was here before 11am which was amazing (didn't need to pay for express delivery by 1pm!)! When I opened the package the box was not in a good condition and you could see that was opened and re sealed. I open the box and saw the phone - absolutely perfect! The only thing being opened was the phone and the battery, everything else was sealed. I guess this was a return from sb who changed his/her mind and the package was not in good condition, that's why the price was that good! But I don't mind since everything works perfectly! Now about the phone...I just looove it :) The experience of the touchscreen but also the speed that you can check emails, reply to txts, check facebook and type a note is incredible. The screen and the resolution is really good and being an Android user for a while I'm so impressed about how responsive the touch screen is. I have this phone for less than 12h but I hope that it's going to last for a long time and I'm sure it's going to be the most functional phone I ever had! Now, browsing the App world, I can't see why people complaint so much...I really miss Skype but I'm sure that more and more apps will be on the way. Still a medium user like me (not a geek) will find more than enough! Also works perfectly with a 3 sim card. Definitely recommend it!

Terrible seller attitude, horrible item.
I found the smartphone defective from the very beginning as follows:- 1. The clock changed its time once, on its own. 2. The alarm setting changed on its own, once. 3. It cannot connect to the WiFi. 4. It stops ringing (connection remaining intact) when I try to fetch it out of my pocket, every time (I have taken extreme care each time not to touch any button on the phone), especially if my finger comes in contact with the screen. This has never happened with any of my phones in the past. 5. I find the phone switched on in the morning even when I switched it off the night before. 6. Unwanted screen appears at times without my command. 7. The phone becomes very hot on its own at times, even when locked, draining charges. 8. It may show another number on the screen than the one I command for. 9. Blackberry app world does not work. 10. Maps do not work. I wrote to the seller. The seller's attitude is appaling. Initially, they would not reply to my complaint. Then, after I spoke to Amazon, they sent me an email, summarily dismissing what I wrote and refusing to replace the item. Then I advised them that I would take legal action and asked for a reply within seven days of my letter being sent to them. They did not reply. It made me wonder, are they comfortable under the protective umbrella of Amazon? I spoke to Amazon again and this time I was reassured by a nice gentleman at Amazon who advised me that action will be taken against the seller and I should hear very soon. A triumph for Blackberry
Having received the new Blackberry Bold 9900 today I am happy to report that most of the major flaws of the previous Bold family have been fixed. The web browser is snappy and responsive, the touchscreen is easy to use, fluid and a delight (no doubt because of the Snapdragon CPU). The phone is very thin for a Blackberry and the fact that it's got a touchscreen as well is particularly impressive given the brick-like feel of the Torch. The camera is a huge step forward from the camera in my old 9700, however, it still has a way to go to match up to the superior iPhone 4 camera (and most likely the iPhone 5 that is forthcoming). The major strength, as always with Blackberry, is the keyboard which is a return to form. The keyboard is the same size and feel that we had in the old Bold 9000 and it's fantastic! For Blackberry users, the Bold 9900 is amazing and represents a great deal of engineering and research by RIM to produce a phone that is functional, stylish and a joy to use. For users of iPhone and Android however, RIM has yet to make a phone which is as comprehensive or as forward thinking as iOS and Android are. RIM has a ready made consumer pool for its phones; we all love Blackberrys and I personally wouldn't move to another manufacturer. However, RIM fails to develop phones that will make users want to switch from Android or iOS and that's where the money is. It is my feeling that although the Bold 9900 is a huge step forward, anyone switching from iOS or Android will most likely miss some of the features they've come to know and love in their previous platform. I highly recommend this phone to anyone with an older Blackberry - get it and you won't look back. For iOS and Android users I'd recommend borrowing a friend's phone to test drive it first because you'll either love Blackberry or think it's antiquated and a touch passé.

PREFACE: I honestly forgot which seller this came from (sorry) but I do know it came FLAWLESS for about USD$190. It was NIB with AT&T branding which was absolutely PERFECT for me (you can guess why). I have no idea if it was locked or not though, because I wanted it for AT&T anyways. HARDWARE: The keys are brilliantly soft, yet very easy to type on (with my fists of meat and fingers of butter) The screen is a decent resolution too, it's sharp yet very bright in daylight. The speaker is loud and crisp in calls, but a little less quality for a/v than the Curve (who cares). The touch screen is on-par with standard devices today, and is always a neat party trick for non-blackberry people. It's also a great feeling to have the same zooming, panning, map control and etc as an Android device. Battery life is a bit crap, it lasts all day on normal use but only just. The processor power may to blame for that. The camera is so-so, I wouldn't skin a website with photos from it like I did with my Samsung Galaxy S2. Call Quality is decent, nothing to write home about either. SOFTWARE: BB7 (Blackberry OS 7) is very intuitive and has some great features, but it's a bit unstable... and there's less apps for it than BB10. (Next phone is definitely a Q10 unless they release something better.) It's a nice-looking OS but misses a couple important marks in 2014 like Voice control, Text-to-speech, and an instant web search capability. It's definitely a great communicator though... as BlackBerry has always been, and Blackberry hasn't fallen short on that at all. OVERALL: Great overall for Blackberry 7 Devices, Not so up-to-speed on the whole smartphone world. If you have the extra cash, splurge on the Q10. You'll be rewarded with more apps, better interface, more features, and the same smooth, soft, yet rigid keyboard for typing out your important communications.
