Mesmerizing and responsive — perfect room vibe!
This thing looks amazing in the dark and really adds a cool vibe to the room. But the best part? The sound-reactive mode! It lights up and changes with music, claps, or even your voice — super fun to play with. Feels like a mini lightning show right at home. Solid build, bright colors, and very eye-catching. Totally worth it!

Great for decorating!
This is an attention-grabbing decoration that's great for parties and adding a unique vibe to any room. It's also a fun, hands-on way to introduce basic science concepts.

Very cool
We had a smaller one and my grandson loves it, so we bought him one for Christmas and plugged it in to make sure it worked. It is perfect! Can't wait to see the look on his face when he opens it!! Thank you!

Highly giftable; retro awesomeness; missing intensity adjustment; flimsy stand
If you grew up in the 80's and 90's, you'll remember seeing these plasma discs in places like Spencer's or Natural Wonders inside the mall, as well as in movies and TV. They were expensive then and they are still expensive now due to their handmade glass production. This one is currently on the cheaper side compared to the market average, making it a good value as of the time of my review. These glass discs are great for children and people who desire the retro effect. These plasma discs are a good nightlight and make excellent birthday gifts. You can touch the disc and the plasma arc will follow your fingers. This 12" plasma disc comes well packaged and is surprisingly big (I had forgotten how big they were). There are no instructions. There is one three-position switch on the backside for on/off/music. The music effect senses volume change and will "dance" to the music, although I find the effect annoying. There is no other adjustment on this plasma disc. Some plasma discs have an intensity adjustment - which is a rotary knob that controls how fast the plasma arc effect moves around - and this one does not have that. The plastic stand on the back has detents to click out and lean against. The stand is very flimsy due to a combination of its narrowness (which is likely a design aesthetic so the stand is hidden) and being really soft plastic. There are two mounting holes to hang this plasma disc on the wall. Unfortunately if you mount the disc on the wall, the on/off switch will become hidden and unreachable, which is a big design oversight. The 12 volt power supply uses a standard 5.5mm barrel plug, which can easily be replaced if the power supply ever dies. I measured the plasma disc and discovered it is drawing about half an amp of current, which is well within the capability of the included power supply. Overall, I really like this plasma disc because the effect is quiet good. Some plasma discs have 'dead zones' around the center, where the plasma arc will not move or only use the same tracks. This one tends to be more sporadic and random. Despite its quirks or missing features, I can definitely recommend this plasma disc due to its value.

Nice try, but major issues
It’s fairly expensive for what you get. The sound mode is not very sensitive. I can play music pretty loud and I don’t get hardly any reactivity. Also there is some sort of electro-magnetic inference produced by the product. When placed near my Apple HomePods, they would start to glitch and act uncontrollably, starting and stopping music. Turning off the device allowed the HomePods to work properly again. I’m not sure how far away you’d have to keep the device away from other electronics. Buyer beware.

Impressive!
It's big and it looks great on my wall. It's constantly moving and attracts attention.
