NektarExpression Pedal (NX-P) ,Black , pack of 1

My use for this is mainly the wah function on a pedal I use. I don't use one for volume swells etc. so I didn't want to spend a bunch. I'm ok with the plastic housing as I'm an ol dude and don't jump around when playing. I retrofitted for this expression pedal to accept a regular trs cable. It was easy to replace the cable with the correct jack. Now my pedal board doesn't have the attached cable taking up space in the carry case. This inexpensive expression pedal does a great job for my needs!

This is a great expression pedal, especially for the price. I just needed a simple volume pedal for my Fractal modeler. I didn't want anything extravagant or expensive - I just need to be able to lower the volume a little at times. I tried the Yamaha FC7 first, but my Fractal FM9 couldn't calibrate it correctly, so about 80% of the range did nothing to my levels, and only the lower 20% range of the pedal controlled 100% of my volume. So I returned it, and ordered this little guy from Nektar. It calibrated perfectly and works great! I'd highly recommend it if you need something simple and don't want to spend a lot!

This unit is so much better than I had originally thought! I initially wrote wherein I complained about the range of expression when using it with the organ section on my Yamaha CK88. This morning, I happened to take note of a tiny switch on the bottom of the pedal. I had originally assumed it was a polarity switch and had ignored it. I was wrong, folks! The switch broadens the range of expression considerably! It made an instantaneous welcome change to my organ playing, and I knew I had to update my review right away. If you're on the fence about buying this pedal, get off of it and make the purchase! You absolutely can't get anything better for this price. Personally, I'm happy with the build quality, but, at this price, it wouldn't bother me if I had to replace it occasionally! If my previous version of this review caused anyone to turn away from this outstanding product, I sincerely apologize. Now, off to play some more music!

Good sweep range, I like the adjustability. Feels reasonably sturdy for what it is compared to a Zoom expression pedal i have that was much more expensive. For the price, you can't go wrong. I will probably buy another one. I don't like that the cable is permanently attached. That's probably the weakest link. I understand it's to keep cost down but I would have preferred a jack with no cable. That's really my only gripe and why it's not a 5 star product for me. Still a good buy.

Works exactly how I needed to to with Zoom G3n multi effects pedal.

Nice little pedal. Plugged right into my expression jack on my katana, works perfectly as a volume control. Seems pretty sturdy and well built to me.

So what it's plastic and feels cheap. It's only $20! When the next cheapest pedal costs $60+ what can you complain about? Maybe you can find a better pedal in the used market but $20 is a very hard deal to beat. Musicians tend to get pretentious and begin chasing diminishing returns - this pedal just works. It's light, long cable length and it's plug and play. Sure I wish the cable was removable too, but at this point I'm looking for things to criticize.I am a touring musician and the pedal saw heavy usage during my 8 week tour and at my house for the past 6 months. It's held up despite being tossed around my case through flights and rough drives.Yeah it feels cheap but it just works! And that's more that can be said about some of the more expensive pedals. Don't be fooled by the cheap pricepoint, it just works!
