Highly recommend this for diabetics
I decided to try these after reading up on the studies that have shown the benefit for Type II Diabetics. My experience has been startling. My blood sugars have dropped drastically in this past month or so of using this.. I've tested often to verify these findings over time, but even my diabetic counselor from the clinic is impressed and is going to suggest this to some of her other patients.I have been on a stable routine of long acting Lantus for some months now, and then used the fast acting Novolog for higher carb meals. However, since about two weeks after starting the daily use of black seed, I've no longer required the Novolog. Before using black seed my blood sugar would raise over 80 points when I tested it 2 hrs after eating 8 cups of popcorn. Now my blood sugar raises about 30 points 2 hours after consuming that same amount of popcorn. I've seen the same results with other foods that I've taken.Another interesting thing that I've noticed is that I use to get very shaky when my blood sugars would drop into the 80s and by the time they had dropped into the 70s I could no longer hold onto things due to the tremors. Now I wake up with fasting sugars in the low 70s and no shaking or signs of hypoglycemia. My counselor is advocating a drop in Lantus at this point.I make an overnight oatmeal in the slow cooker and I add black seed to that oatmeal, then add 1/2 teaspoon of raw seed to the bowl when I dish it up, along with 1 rounded tsp of Ceylon cinnamon which I purchase here as well (Frontier organic ). The cinnamon usage had helped to bring my blood sugars down a bit, but that effect had stabilized several months ago. The black seed dropped my overall sugars even more significantly than the cinnamon. Both are good tools to have in a diabetic's arsenal however.I've read that these seeds need to be toasted or they are bitter and can cause stomach irritation. This frustrated me when I read it right after buying these because I didn't want to have to go through the annoyance of having to toast these before I could use them. So I didn't. I've not had any trouble with stomach irritation, but I'm always consuming them with my oatmeal/grain mix. The raw seed that I add does have a strong flavor. I make a point to chew them well to release the oils and beneficial properties. They remind me of celery seed...somewhat bitter, but not distressingly so. Perhaps because the flavor of the oatmeal I make is so pleasing that it plays down the more negative taste issues that I've read about.I'm more than happy to answer any questions that anyone may have. The oatmeal in the slow cooker is so easy and makes a great start to the day for those of us that are not in possession of an abundance of energy right away in the morning. I tend not to eat right away because the energy required to prepare something right after getting up, just isn't there. The overnight oatmeal is the perfect solution for that problem, and now the simplest way to get the black seed in my system on a consistent basis. I use organic grains (steel cut oats, quinoa, flax seed, pearled barley, buckwheat groats, black seed) and dried fruit, coconut oil to coat the crock, and 2 diced apples. Be happy to share the exact recipe for those that would like to know.

Review of Black Cumin from Indus Organics
Over the last two years I have begun to see that there are some herbs out there that help me very much. For instance, curcumin is very good herb that contributes to human health. (I am not a doctor.) Recently I have been bothered by arthritis pain. After searching the internet for information on herbs that could potentially help ease my arthritis pain, I decided to try on black cumin. Having purchased several other herbs and supplements from Amazon, I searched for black cumin for sale on Amazon. Several weeks ago I ordered a jar of black cumin by Indus Organics from Amazon. Since then I have been sprinkling a small amount of this herbal product on my food. I have found the product to be very helpful to me and, as a spice, it adds good flavor to my food. My arthritis pain is much less as a result of using this product. See this product at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036RKIB0/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title. Tom
