Fire Punch, Vol. 1

This title is arguably Tatsuki Fujimoto's best work at least in my opinion. Really odd story but yet kept me entranced to keep on reading. In one sitting I read about 4 volumes back to back because I was so hooked. If you enjoy wierd plotlines with good art than this is the perfect manga for you also the ending was amazing so yeah. P.S do not order this off of Amazon unless you want fast shipping. They will package the manga like idiots and get it bent so beware... 🦦

Its really short but in a good way. It can get confusing at times but the story is great. The quality of the book is great and it arrived early too.

I found the art to be amazing and a cut above most other series. The setting takes place on a recently ice-aged earth where most of the surviving populace has either taken to banditry, or en-mass congregate in cults with insane ritualistic ideologies based on victimizing the so called "blessed". The action scenes are insane and fascinatingly gritty. The landscape is barren but the author makes the frozen wasteland look absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Forewarned, there is murder, mutilations and unsubtle attempts of rape by various antagonists in this story. The pacing is fast and almost entirely linear. A definite read for any serious mature manga reader.

Quite the adventure! A man that can regenerate from any wound & then cursed (?) To be ablaze for as long as their is kindling! Wowzers!

Not a bad manga, but I have a few issues. The situations in this book are tragic, and the story is set up with a lot of potential, but just one complaint is holding it back for me. Shock value, a lot of things said, and done are obviously done for only shock value. Sure, I like to be shocked, but all of the shock is just uncomfortable to read for me. This book has some death in it, and I’m not talking about that, I’m referencing some “mature” topics and “illegal” actions that are going down. Besides that stuff it’s a solid manga that sets up a story nicely.

Very interesting story to get you started and hooked on it. I very much like the story telling technique of Fujimoto Tatsuki sensei. His story telling technique is very unique in the manga world. Honestly because of Chainsaw Man I started to pick up Fire Punch. Now, can anyone tell me when is Vol 2 reprinting? I don't want to pay $100 for a copy of Vol 2 LOL!

Fire Punch is among the greatest works of art in modern history. It feels like the Blood Meridian of manga. There are very few series as explicit, dark, and thought-provoking as Fire Punch. I don't want to give details because this is a series you absolutely must experience, but viewer discretion is advised. Fujimoto will go down as the Go Nagai of our age,

You'd think years of reading Berserk, Golden Kamuy and 'the Road' would've prepared me for the unique hell on earth the main character faces every minute of every day. But here we are. Despite muscling my way past the bleakest subject matter, it's an utterly fascinating read. I love all the allegory and how Agni turns his horrible situation into his own strength 💪
