Purchase for science fair project and worked out perfect
My daughter was doing a science fair project on the DNA of strawberries and bananas! This microscope was perfect. You could see the actual DNA in every slide we put in there. It also comes with its own little slides of stuff on them and everything you need to use the microscope. If we didn't have to buy batteries for the light but that's really nothing. It worked perfect and it was actually very sturdy for the price of paid. If you're wanting to buy a microscope to share some memories with your children or if you need one for a science fair, I really suggest this one! You won't be disappointed

Microscopic
This little microscopic is fantastic for the price tagThe first thing you notice is the fact that it has plenty of space for the lenses and to look at the objects in the background

A good first microscope for a child
The microscope is a good child's introduction to a multi-lens microscopic world but is rather more a toy than a frequent use instrument. The focus is such that the lenses have to be almost touching the slide for the subject to be defined and there are slight differences in alignment of the 3 lenses on the turret, no matter how careful you are in rotating and stopping them, such that you have to realign the slide slightly for each one. Obviously the field of view is quite restricted. My (clumsy) 7 year old granddaughter uses it quite capably though and so ease of use is good. She enjoys the unfolding of miniature secrets of nature.

Decent
It feels lightweight but seemingly works ok for occcasional use. Good for the 7-10 age range but if used more often then I would get a more robust model
