Nice low profile portable unit for older cars
On a recent trip my rental car included built-in Car Play/Android Auto. I've got a Google Pixel 9 Pro phone and decided to try it out for navigation to my destination from the airport. I was amazed at how easy it was to use and enjoyed the large screen at eye level instead of having to figure out how to prop up my phone to navigate. After the trip I read an article about portable Car Play/Android Auto units and decided to give one a try. The article pointed out they come in traditional boxy display and low profile widescreen displays. I choose the low profile widescreen display as it wouldn't block the view as much as the taller, boxy display units.Next is deciding where to "mount it". The unit came with an adhesive mount for the dashboard and a suction cup mount for the windshield. I tried both, the suction cup mount works stick to the windshield quite well, but I didn't like how much view it would block, so I decided dashboard mount would be best. The problem with dashboard mount is it's pretty permanent. I'm still deciding exactly where I want to put it, so all testing has been done either with the suction cup (driving) and just sitting on the dashboard (when parked in the driveway).Note that I probably won't be a power user of this device, using every bell and whistle provided. I'll mostly use it for navigation and maybe to play music from Spotify. It also has a forward facing dash cam built-in and a wired backup camera that can be plugged in and routed (via a long attached wire) to the back of the car and easily attached to one of the license plate's screws. At this point the cameras are an extra feature that I'll eventually get around to using. With that said, it works quite well for want I want, and the slim profile (widescreen) is exactly what I like. It's powered by a USB-C cable to a 12-volt port (the old-school cigarette lighter adapter) with includes an extra USB-A plug to connect your smartphone for charging. It's pretty quick to connect to my smartphone via Android Auto after starting the car and the screen display is nice and sharp. The audio output can connect to your car audio system via an FM channel, bluetooth or an AUX port. I tested FM, which is acceptable, bluetooth and the AUX port, which is also very good however that's another wire coming out of the unit (power, backup camera, AUX audio). I'll stick with bluetooth.Maybe later I will figure out other features that are available in a unit like this, but for now I'm happy with my purchase.

Always Wanted Apple Car Play and Now I have it!
My car is a 2013 Sienna and it doesn't have Apple Car Play. It has the worst GPS system and so I never use it and just use my iPhone. Whenever I rent a car it has Apple Car Play and I always wish I could have it in my car. I decided to get the IIWEY Apple Car Play Dash Mount system because the price was reasonable (not too expensive, and not too cheap (which runs the risk of it being a piece of junk)>Because my car's entertainment system is integrated into the Head unit, I coudln't swap that out so had to go with an add on. I'm glad I got this unit and sorry I didn't get it sooner! Item came well packaged and handsomely presented. Tutorial online via a youtube video on installation and functions were easy to follow and easy to find using the QR code. Screen is huge (maybe a bit "too big" (see more below)), and touch screen very sensitive. Sound is crisp, loud and clear and bluetooth integration was seamless and steady (never dropped the connection). The unit comes with a plastic protector that prompts you to watch the video. once you peel that off, underneaht is ANOTHER screen protector which I didn't even see at first (and wondered where there were 2 small bubbles on my screen). The touch screen is super sensitive and fast--no lag. Integration with apple car play and iphone was quick and easy and all the apps were working well.Since the main reason for me using it would be GPS, I tested all 3 map functions--apple maps, google maps, and wayze. all worked well, with no issues, and bringing up my saved favorites (see screenshots). Other functions like listening to podcasts, music, worked as expected. A nice bonus was there's a built in FM radio which is great, so I don't have to revert back to using my car's FM radio since the screen on this unit is covering up the controls to the radio. that was unexpected and cool. the front dash cam works well and there's even a 64GB micro SD card included. It's great the dash cam can be adjusted up and down and swivels so you can get the exact angle you want (see my pic).I didn't yet hardwire it in, because I wanted to test it out first before prying apart everything. the video even shows you how to do your on installation and even includes a pry tool. It doesn't look to hard so will give it a try.. However, the mounts included work well (I'm using the suction cup on and it is SUPER strong). the unit is powered by a cigarette lighter and the nice thing is it has an extra USB port so you can still plug in a charger for your phone. The few negatives I can think of is the screen is very big! It does cover some of the controls I do need for the car, but that might be just in my case and I have to play around with different positions. The other annoying thing is the click sound when touching any button is very loud! there's only an option to turn it off. I wish there was a way to adjust the volume of it as I do like the sound to tell me i pressed an app, but just don't want it to be so loud!. Other than those 2 things, I have no complaints. So far it's been working great and I can see myself using this regularly, especially on long drives.

Easy to install and use, clarity of the screen, Highly recommended for non smart cars
I love this dash cam with apple car play! As a 2008 Dodge Ram owner, I've always been a bit frustrated by the lack of modern smart car features like built-in navigation and a larger, more responsive display. This device has completely transformed my driving experience.Setting up the IIWEY was incredibly easy. The instructions were clear, and I had it installed and running in minutes. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate menus and access the features I need while driving. It has a great front camera with a wide angle view and a clear back up camera. The display is fantastic! The screen is bright, crisp, and the colors are vibrant. Even in direct sunlight, I have no trouble seeing the screen clearly. The resolution is excellent, making maps and videos look sharp. This device has added so many functionalities to my truck. Having reliable navigation at my fingertips is a huge plus, The ability to use apps directly on the screen has been incredibly convenient. The IIWEY's performance is impressive. The system is responsive, and I haven't experienced any lag or slowdowns, even when running multiple apps simultaneously. The navigation is quick to update, and the overall speed of the device is excellent. The IIWEY has been a fantastic investment, providing the smart car features I was missing. If you have an older car or truck that lacks modern technology, I highly recommend giving this device a try. It's easy to use, has a great display, and performs flawlessly. I'm incredibly satisfied with my purchase!
