It does what it's purpose is. For the price I can't complain. Clears my main drain when it gets stupid because my system is old and needs work. This is just holding me over for a bit. Used at least 4 times since purchased. Be prepared to get a bit messy with it but I can't imagine doing this work and not expecting that. Not as good as a 1/2 inch one, but this one snakes to end of my line which I need.

I purchased a 3/8 100 foot snake. You Just have to be patient and work the machine and you’ll learn how it operates. The only thing I would change on it is maybe put a back cover on the bearings, they seem a little open and exposed. I haven’t had an issue with them falling out, but it sounds like it will be an easy fix if they do. It operates pretty easy and self feeds back in not super fast, but it operates nicely

I've used a few of these over the years and this does every bit a good a job as any I've used. Not as heavy duty as some I've used but was every bit effective and not as hard to manage. Good machine for such a crappy job

Exactly as expected. Needed a 1/2" auger to clear a house drain. Didn't want to keep paying plumber $100s to do it. This has already paid for itself. Perfect? No. But for the price and functionality, it meets my needs. Very good product and would recommend. Easy to setup and use. Came with gloves (kind of low grade, but useful) and a double set of bits.

Overall this product is terrible, cheaply made, and fell apart during its first use. The snake broke off while in retraction and 80ft is still sitting in my first floor septic line. Normally not a problem but its a solid foundation so I am going to have to buy a brand name machine and use a recovery bit to pull it out. It is obvious looking at the pictures that the metal Vevor used for the snake was cheap and rusting during milling. Additionally, the drive belt for the drum was also made with cheap rubber and small chunks were falling on the floor. The drum that holds the snake came warped from the factory and that also raised an eyebrow as I wasn't sure if it was going to just fall off. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the snake in my shower drain reflecting off the mirror, unfortunately its just out of reach. If you like wasting your time fiddling , this machine is for you. Otherwise, spend a little more money and save yourself the heartache. I do have to send a shout out to Amazon customer service for taking care of me, thank you.

It came with cracked castings, but cleared the sewer. I guess it's okay for the price. They gave a slight refund.

This was packaged very well. The delivery people threw this thing all over, the box and styrofoam were badly beat but the product was not damaged. I read the directions which helped a lot. A couple of years ago I rented Home Depot auger and worked on the drain for about six hours. The auger from the Depot twisted all the time it was a battle to clean the drain. I set this unit up the same as I did for the rented unit. This thing was a DREAM to use. Once it got started down the drain it was smooth sailing just cleaned. Without pushing the unit hard (like I had to for the rented one) I took my time and just let it work. I was done in about hour. Don’t use the gloves they supply as they will get caught in the auger as you feed just use leather Gardner gloves worked great.

Got here 2 days before expected. super easy to assemble. Didn’t kink while feeding it though. Got a stubborn clog out in 5 minutes. For the price I highly recommend.

It is not the right machine for the big evacuation of your house or main drains. It's not very strong and there is only one speed. I also think that more accessories should be made or added.

I knew I was in trouble when I unpacked the power supply only to find a 110v power transformer with a flimsy two pin plug and a loose and very cheap 3 pin 220v power plug/adapter. Within minutes of unpacking and moving the auger a foot to the left, I managed to snag the on/off switch which in turn broke one of the cable retainers. Luckily, I had a few spare retainers so was able to fix. The auger has an RCD attached directly to the power cable which then loosely plugs into the 110V transformer. All very flimsy and not at all what I was expecting. After 5 minutes of gentle use, the transformer cut out. The transformer is French and clearly states that it is strictly only intended for internal use. After 30 minutes cooling down, I was able to use the auger for another 5 minutes or so, before the auger cable snapped off at the connecting joint. After a quick tig weld to the cable joint I was back up and running, but not for long before the underpowered and dangerous power supply overheated again. The auger frame, motor and cable housing feel robust, but if you seriously want to buy this product, you will need to fork out for a proper 110v power supply, buy a 220v rated RCD and a 110v power plug/adapter to sort out the power problems. What is supplied is not fit for purpose: it is badly underpowered, it is precarious and IMHO downright dangerous. If you can fix things when they break, this piece of kit might work for you. If you want something that works safely and without fuss, then probably best to avoid.

Machine worked amazing exactly how it's intended to. I decided to use the cheap gloves that came with, my dumb move. Within 3 seconds of of grabbing the line to work it in the rubber grabbed, sucked the glove in annd around like a power drill and dislocated the front knuckle on my pinkie finger. Other than that works amazing and even better with adult gloves not the crap they send.
