A best and handy device for coffee lovers.
I've been using the Philips Drip Coffee Maker for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with its performance. It’s very easy to use—just add water, coffee grounds, and press a button, and it brews a full pot of coffee in about 10 minutes, which is perfect for busy mornings. The coffee tastes great, and the carafe holds enough for a small household or a few guests. I also like the compact design, as it doesn’t take up too much counter space and fits nicely in my kitchen. The hot plate feature is a plus, keeping the coffee warm without burning it. However, I do wish it had a programmable timer for early mornings, and while the plastic build works fine, it feels a bit less sturdy compared to higher-end models. Overall, it’s an excellent, affordable choice for anyone who wants a simple and reliable coffee maker.

DON’T RECOMMEND THIS RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE not so good COFFEE MAKER
Review of Philips HD7431/20 760-Watt Coffee Maker (Black)Disadvantages:1. 15A plug only. Can never use on UPS even if you want to or need to.2. Not a good design at all, that too from this electronics giant.3. Philips has made this coffee maker far more complicated and cumbersome than it needs to be.4. Filter housing can not be removed-> potential bacteria issue as it can not be cleaned easily. In most machines it is totally removable for daily cleaning.5. Glass Carafe lid can not be removed at all6. Has an ugly unwanted/non-required plastic tube protruding inside the glass carafe. Resulting in plastic tube getting “cooked” in hot coffee all the time!7. Hot water delivery mechanism is really stupid. The water tank cover moves this hot water sprinkler into place from the side, but not quite to the center of coffee grounds. ->> Good chance of springs etc in this design going bad soon. Most machines have a stationery sprinkling system and it does not need to move at all.8. Hardly any proper instructions for this machine, no clarity and confusing.9. Removable Filter basket goes in ONLY “one way” into the filter housing(non removable one). Again unnecessary cumbersome design.10. The issue 9 above can lead to the “Hot water Sprinkler Arm” going bad in a second without your knowledge, as it will hit against the removable filter, if put the wrong way!11. There is NO visible water level indicator on the water tank, though it says there is one in the specifications. Go figure! Ancient design indeed!12. Compared to other machines, it has a narrow opening for pouring the water in to the tank. Water will spill into the coffee in the filter basket, if you not careful!13. The shiny plastic body of this machine is very electrostatic and attracts dust from any cleaning cloth or surrounding.14. I found that this coffee maker does not make 1 Mug properly(i.e. level at 2-3 cup indicator on the carafe). Coffee flavor is not good and it tastes like under brewed coffee(Tested for 1 mug). My old machine makes much better coffee than this new one!! Absolutely no coffee smell or aroma while making the coffee!?15. I used the proper cone paper filter to make coffee. If you use the supplied mesh filter, you would end up with lot of coffee grounds mixed coffee. This is in part due to the fact that the Indian coffee companies don’t make the “Automatic Coffee maker” proper grade of coarse coffee powder.16. I have been using Automatic Drip Coffee makers for 40 years now and as an expert, I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS RELATIVELY EXPENSIVE not so good COFFEE MAKERNOTE TO ALL: I am kicking myself for having bought this Philips coffee maker. I DIDN'T REALIZE THESE THINGS CAN'T BE RETURNED.

A coffee machine for the novice
So my help broke the glass mug of my last philip coffee machine and they'd stopped stocking the glass mug of that particular brand and I had to buy this new version of the machine. I've had the last machine for nearly 5 years and it's helped wake me up all these years, so no complaints. Now coming to this product, it's a foolproof machine which even a complete novice could figure out how to use easily. If you can't just look up the instructions in the manual which comes attached. There is no levers to adjust coffee intensity or extra pump to froth your milk, or menu to choose from for your coffee... There is a slot for water, another for the coffee powder. A place for the glass mug to go and you are pretty set for your mug of coffee. Now coming to the negatives, it does require a three pin plug, the kind you'd use your microwave oven on. The water level indicator which was outside in my old model, which was easier to observe especially when you are trying to get a cup of coffee before your eyes are open properly, is now marked inside. I wonder whose bright idea it was! I can hardly see where the marks are until I shine a torch inside and that's just plain ridiculous! So minus points to the designer on that.Additionally the new feature which has been spoken about is AromaSwirl, it's nothing but a pipe in the center of the lid so that the coffee will now percolate from the top to the mug through this pipe so that the coffee in the mug would swirl a bit more than before. Simple, but ingenious. It also means you'll have to be a bit more careful while cleaning this mug now than before! The machine also has Drip stop to interrupt coffee brewing whenever you like as one of the features. This means two things, if you were to open the top lid the percolator pipe will retreat back to the water container and not send more liquid to the coffee filter. Also when you take the glass mug off the heat pad, a spring below the detachable filter gets decompressed so that no more liquid flows into the heat pad. This is well and good as long as you are using their glass mug. But what if like last time this glass mug has broken (and it will, we're right now washing it with kid gloves because it is new, but I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon) and we have to use something instead to brew our coffee for the day until the replacement mug arrives! What then? In my old machine I used to use it with a stell mug, this one I'm not sure I can get one drop of coffee out. But that's my worry when the jar breaks...Until then I'm measuring the water in the glass mug because that has indicators marked clearly in it and treating it like it's an egg shell I wouldn't want to break!
