For kids who cook in a play kitchen or a real kitchen, this interactive recipe book invites readers to chop the vegetables, mash the avocado, warm the tortillas, and more - all inside the book! Step one: Cut the chicken into cubes and toss it in a bowl with the spices. Step two: Warm oil on a skillet on the stove, then add the chicken. Step three: While the chicken cooks, chop the scallions, slice the radishes, shred the cabbage, mince the cilantro. Simple yet accurate recipe text takes readers through the steps of cooking tacos, while the interactive novelty features such as pull tabs, sliders, wheels, and pop-out pieces invite them to participate in the process. Perfect for kids who love to help in the kitchen, or any child who prefers to "do it myself." This is the third title in the COOK IN A BOOK series. Ages 2-4 Review: A Beautifully Designed Gem That Creates Love for Cooking Amongst the Little Ones - "Tacos!: An Interactive Recipe Book" is a beautifully designed gem that captivates both young readers and parents alike. As someone with a designer background, I truly appreciate the thoughtful aesthetics and craftsmanship that went into creating this book.It stands out not just as a sliding children’s book but as an imaginative and engaging experience. The interactions are brilliantly conceived, providing a creative and satisfying experience that goes beyond mere novelty. Each page turn feels like an invitation to explore the joy and love embedded in the act of cooking. It's a wonderful way to show little ones that making food is not just about the ingredients but an act of love and creating memories together. This is particularly special as my culture is all about cooking and eating as moments of deep connection with loved ones. This book is incredibly engaging and well-crafted, making it a treasured addition to any child's library. It’s one of those rare finds that I know I will cherish and hope to pass on to my children’s children, ensuring that the joy and love of cooking continue to be shared for generations. Review: Tacos! - As others might say, yes, a bit on the pricey side. But what you get is a thoughtful fun cook book your kiddo can play with at their play kitchen for years to come, and one you can actually eventually cook alongside with them! The Taco book in the series is one of the more damage proof books, but with all interactive books, you may want to preemptively reinforce a the avocado flap and the handle of the cardboard knife so they aren't damaged as easily with clear Gorilla packing tape. Most librarians do the same. The construction is very solid, but... let's be honest, so are toddlers! Ours, despite some wear and tear, reads and plays with this almost every day after school.

So much fun for my 1 year old
My daughter isn't exactly a fan of tacos in real life, but she has so much fun "chopping" the vegetables in this book and pretend eating the taco at the end. Some of the interactive elements are quite subtle, so I've noticed that my toddler sometimes breezes past these quieter details (like heating the skillet) in her eagerness to get to the "good stuff". Overall, this is another successful purchase in the Cook in a Book series that we love.

My family has really enjoyed the Cook in a Book series -- grown-ups and children! Both my 2 and my 5 year old like to read this book. The kids can pretend to cook as they read the book. There's a little knife for chopping the vegetable, and they can fold the tortilla! It really goes beyond the average pop-up/flap book in how interactive it is -- more like an app! We've made the recipe too, and it was great! The book is really sturdy and has really attracted my children (I think it's been read everyday since we got it a month or two ago). This would make a great gift for a preschooler with a few child-sized cooking materials. I would recommend this for ages 2-6.

Fun way to teach young ones about cooking
Love that it is a real recipe and my 2 year old loves the book just for reading at bedtime too. I wish they didn't include a knife and some of the pieces don't go back in to their slot so they fall out - like the taco on the last page keeps falling out and the corn on the cob page doesn't stay up. Minor issues - overall would definitely recommend.

Fun and Interactive book!
This book is great for bedtime, but also car rides and trips as it is very interactive! We have yet to use it as a recipe to follow in the kitchen but that’s what it’s for! We love these types of books!

Thoroughly Enjoyed by my Two-Year Old
My two-year old has really enjoyed this book, pretending to prepare tacos and to eat them! This specific book of the larger series contains a cardboard knife that enables my son to help "prepare" ingredients and also allows me to teach him about cooking safely. It also has a cardboard tortilla that he can pretend to put toppings on and "eat". It has definitely piqued his interest in what we do in the kitchen and now he loves to bring his stool over to see and help with meal prep which has been fun.
