ButterFox Slim Carrying Case Bag for ASUS Rog Ally X (Black/Purple)

This case from ButterFox is designed for a ROG Ally or a SteamDeck. I bought this case to store my ROG Ally X portable gaming console device. I only have the ROG Ally so I cannot comment on how the Steam Deck fits but this is the perfect case for the ROG Ally. The exterior of the case is a thick rubbery material. It's easy to grip with your hand even if iyour hands are wet. It's not exactly a hardshell case but it has enough thickness and durability to resist moderate bumps. I am assuming the case can protect the device from light drops from a reasonable height too (though I haven't tried). The inside of the case is a soft velvet plush type of material. The corners feel like a harder shock absorbing type of plastic with cloth over it. The ROG Ally has a near perfect fit. There is not much wiggle or excess room. The indentations in the lid has the shapes of the analog sticks so they have a little more room and are not depressed when the lid is down and the case is zipped. It seems that a lot of thought went into this design. I am a huge fan of the purple tab shown in the picture. This allows you to set your device on that and gently pull the tab to lift your device up from inside of the case to quickly and safely get it out. The case is durable but not too heavy. If I had to complain about anything it would only be the little zipper pouch which has the plush backing to cover the screen. It is designed well for protecting the screen but I cannot think what would really fit in that pouch without damaging the screen other than an ID, credit card or some cash. I suppose it's a good spot to stash a screen wipe or a microfiber cloth. This case really knocks it out of the park. I can toss this expensive gaming device into a backpack and not have to worry about it hitting against things or anything in the pack bumping against it. Well DONE ButterFox!!

Butterfox carrying case for Rog Ally X Took to disneyland for a week. Fit comfortably in my backpack. Microfiber high quality interior wont scratch screen or console. Good size pouch for headphones and small accessories. I like the two strap for lifting and securing. 5 out of 5 stars recommend for travel and storage.

I have been looking for an actually good case for my Ally X. Most of the ones (including the amazon choice one) don't fit right. They are made for the Ally proper, not the Ally X. they moved the buttons and changed the grips. There is a major difference in fit. This one fits like a glove. I checked the button alignment, and it is correct. ButterFox tends to be pretty good, so I went out on a limb here, and I am glad that I did.

The case looks nice, feel secure, holds the ally x in place. I have to put a significant amount of pressure on the front where the analog sticks are to get them to actually depressed so just throwing this in a laptop bag like I usually do not worried about it imaging the front facing control controls, and the cover of the screen under the little storage pouch is a nice touch. The only reason it’s not getting five stars is because it was a little bit thicker than I thought it was and it appeared in the pictures. But overall, really like it.

Bought this for my wife's Ally X and she loves it. It's fits perfectly and is a quality build.

This case is perfect for the console. No room for the charging cable though.
