Sure, they may look like something out of a 3D movie from 1995, but when the sun darkens and you’re the only one not squinting like a bat in daylight, you’ll feel like a superhero.The cardboard design is what you’d expect—fragile and likely to get crushed if you sit on them (don’t ask how I know), but hey, they work! My eyes are still intact, and the sun didn’t burn its way into my soul. That alone deserves 4 stars. Now if only they came with a “don’t stare at the sun after the eclipse” reminder.

When my 95 year old mother called to say that her town was in the path of totality fir the eclipse, I had to go. I bought a two pack, it has the date on the side. Mom and I sat outside talked for hours, then donned our glasses. They worked perfect. When it was total dark, mom grabbed my hands and said sis, the birds stopped singing. Meanwhile everyone around us was cheering, families were hugging, it was beautiful. Who knew these glasses were magical.....

Yesterday (April 8, 2024) was the 2nd time during my long life that the path of the solar eclipse was close enough to me that I didn't want to miss it. The one in 2017 was also close to me, but I didn't have a pair of "solar glasses", so even though I video taped it, it really wasn't that great. This time, I searched through Amazon, and found six pairs for a reasonable price. I got in my car, and drove to the center of where my weather apps predicted the center of totality would be. Trust me when I say that these glasses made a world of difference! I could actually SEE what I'd only seen photos of before. I was in tears on the drive home. I've never seen anything as breathtaking and awe-inspiring as I saw in the 2024 American Eclipse, thanks to these glasses. I'll hold on to the others just in case I'm around for the next American eclipse. Who knows...maybe I'll pack them in my bag and fly to the next eclipse over the Great Pyramids! ;-)

These glasses were excatly what I wanted. They were folded and placed inside of a ziploc bag. This allowed them to be shipped in a smaller package. I had initially ordered a pack of another brand. Those were actually a bit more expensive than the Healthoholic brand. When the other brand was delivered, it arrived in a LARGE envelope, which the delivery driver apparently decided to fold in half to fit thru the mail slot. When I opened the envelope, I found those glasses had not been folded at the ear stems and had been placed into the envelope completly extended. When the envelope was bent in half, it bent all the right side lenses.
