Best Chromecast, more expensive Chromecast
I love it. Everything seems to run better. I've got a few older 4k Chromecasts around the house that I still use. I only got this because my living room Chromecast burnt out, but I'm glad I did. The picture is better. It hasn't glitched yet. Everything loads quicker. Two things better about last gen; #1 I liked hiding it behind the TV, while this gen is just another small box under the TV. Between it, the modem, the router, etc, it's starting to look cluttered. #2 the price. I only paid $39.99 for last gen. This one cost me $99.99

Great Streaming Experience
The Google TV Streamer is a nice upgrade. We have historically used a premium Roku, but the Google TV is faster and more responsive. It also has a more modem feeling interface.A really cool feature is that during the setup process, it detects the make of the TV and sound system and then the Google TV remote automatically controls them. This worked seemlessly with TVs by Samsung, Vizio, and Hisense, even though they were all smart TVs. It also worked perfectly with our Sonos sound system and the Onkyo receiver with surround sound in another room.Overall, my wife and I very pleased.

Best device for the price by far!
Top tier streaming device! Remote control is very simple but packed with nice little features. The ability to use it to control the TV is a nice touch. Overall streaming quality is fantastic. The device is very quick to respond to any inputs (the main reason I bought this. My "smart" TV was just to slow) highly recommend this streaming device for anyone looking. A huge plus is smart home integration made simple. Spend the extra money and get this streamer!

Its pretty feature rich, but not perfect.
This GoogleTV Streamer is pretty feature-rich as an Android TV box, and is a great purchase if you fall into any of the following:1. first-time cord cutter (yes, I know, some people still use cable or satellite tv packages)2. beginner/novice smarthome user with a bunch of light bulbs and want an easy "non voice" way to control stuff with a remote.3. advanced home assistant/homey/homekit users that just want another quick session method to check and control their devices while already watching movies or media on their TV.4. anyone in the google/android ecosystem that doesn't want to always use their voice, or other triggers... sometimes, you just want to things at the ease of your fingertips.I am sort of all of these.I started with the OG 2015 Nvidia ShieldTV. I used it as my main media-watching device, utilizing apps like Plex for media serving and such. As a perk, ShieldTV users got free early access to what is now known as GFN Cloud gaming. In 2022, I migrated to an Xbox Series S and it replaced my ShieldTV (don't worry, it's packed in the closet. it still works perfectly). It served the same media-consumption with the added bonus of being an Xbox. Great, but with a few more downsides. (overheating, lack of bt, etc)Fast forward to the present day.I have been using the Google TV Streamer fairly heavily every day since Christmas. I own several smart bulbs, heaters, humidifiers, and in my studio basement, and having a Google Home panel accessible on your TV is a game changer for laziness, or, just checking up on cameras and such without having to have another phone or tablet nearby.I am far from an advanced user, but also not a beginner. I am also heavily invested in the Google ecosystem. For anyone wondering, there is enough CPU power in this thing to run GFN and Xbox GamePass cloud games fine. Just make sure you plug in an ethernet cable and hardwire yourself. Not as beefy as the OG NvidiaShield, but will make do for a quick gaming session.Everything works out of the box as a android tv box should. Setup is straight forward, Tips to help you set up the "star" button are very intuitive, and I might have been an idiot for not fully reading all the instructions, but long-pressing the Home button brings up your "Settings" slide-out menu that has your Google Home favorites listed.Overall, I like it for what it is.If you're already in the Google home ecosystem and you're in the market for a beginner-friendly media box, this might be the one for you.If you are a more advanced smart home user, this might be for you? video/voice feeds on your tv sounds great.the only cons I've found so far:There are no USB ports on this thing. But it has Bluetooth, so there's that. I have open earbuds, an 8bitdo pro controller, and a wireless kb/touchpad connection when I turn the unit on.The battery cover for the remote is nice and tight to begin with, but the instant you put new batteries in, and slide the cover back on, it'll *squish* and *creak* in your hand when you're pressing buttons on the lower half of the remote (where the battery cover is located). Not a dealbreaker, but something to note, as it's a round bottom remote that cradles in your palm.2nd gripe: the remote uses batteries. also, not a dealbreaker. but it's 2025.3rd gripe: the YouTube and Netflix buttons on the remote are not re-programable. They should be. Not everyone uses YouTube or Netflix .Overall, I like this thing. It's a Google product, so it's pretty user-friendly. It does have some flaws and could use a little more boost in power, but for the $99 price tag, as long as you limit your expectations, this streamer could be your newest best friend for years to come.

Good performance
I was using another brand streaming box but Hulu stopped working on all three of them simultaneously. I upgraded to the Google steaming device and Hulu is now working fine. This streamer appears to have a fast CPU, it boots up quickly and all apps run smooth and fast.
