I have owned a Sony HDR-CX405 HandyCam for several years (since 2020) and have never actually purchased spare batteries for it or even thought about getting a portable battery charger. While I really love and enjoy using my Sony HandyCam, I always depended on the built-in camera charger, but the problem with that is in situations where the camera battery fully discharges, I'm just totally up the creek without a paddle! Whenever this happens (which is quite frequently) I have to actually plug in the camera's built-in charger, which takes about 2 1/2 hours to fully charge. THAT'S NO FUN! So, recently I actually started to look into how much spare batteries would cost, as well as a portable charger. Well, needless to say, The Sony Brand NP-BX1 Batteries ARE NOT CHEAP! But, I decided I would take the plunge, and order two of those. So, in the meantime, I ran across a single battery charger, but the more I thought about it, I concluded that if I really get busy with my HandyCam, one spare battery would probably not give me enough battery life for long recording sessions. So, then I happened upon this NP-BX1 dual charger for $19.99 and immediately knew "That's The Ticket!" I did order it, and it was ONLY AFTER it was delivered [The very next day!], that I realized what a jewel this little gadget is. As I stated, it accommodates two (2) batteries. But an even bigger surprise was to find two (2) batteries inside the charger, that I little expected. (That's what happens when you don't thoroughly read the product information). What a welcome surprise [even though at the moment I don't even know if these will work in my Sony HandyCam]. I'm still glad to have both of them. Back to the charger, for 19.99, this is a sophisticated little charger, that not only accommodates two batteries, but it acts as a self-contained little charging system that also provides storage for two SD cards, has a built-in battery life indicator (that you can view through a window on top with the lid closed down), a built-in USB-A charger, a USB-C cable port, all wrapped up inside a very sturdily constructed plastic housing. So, needless to say, I was totally pleased with my $19.99 battery purchase because I got WAY MORE than I expected to get in this little bitty package. So, at this point, I should never get caught again with a dead HandyCam, because I can accommodate two spare batteries at all times, so even if my camera battery discharges, I'll still be good to go! The charger also comes nicely packaged in a little box, and it has a small instruction booklet, BUT, for me, that booklet wasn't even necessary, after returning to the product detail page on Amazon, and watching several of the review videos. They were all very helpful in providing detailed instructions for using this product. I encourage any customer considering a battery charger to go with this product. You won't regret it; and you'll be pleasantly surprised with what you receive.

I purchased this for my Sony Cybershot HX300. I love the idea and design, it's so much easier to have the charger also be a storage case for batteries + sdcards. The included batteries are so far performing on par to my oem Sony Battery so I can't tell the difference. I think it's nice that you can push a button in the case and see the state of charge of both batteries making for an easy diagnostic check. Batteries themselves hold quite securely while also being easy to use and remove. Overall, if you're looking for a battery set for the sony NP-BX1 based cameras i'd highly recommend it!

I really love this battery charger. I bought it for my camera, but didn't realize I had strayed from the battery type I needed. I didn't realize it until I threw the packaging away and charged the batteries and went to put it in my camera. Im not sure if I can return it since I don't have any packaging but I have no use for it. I wish I knew someone who could use it and I wish I could find one like it for my camera batteries. The lid opens and closes easily. It feels nice in my hands. It shows the charging progress for each battery separately. It is just so easy to use and I love the flip lid. It keeps the batteries a little safer and a little cleaner. The cord has a spot that it easily snaps into and comes out of for use. I haven't used it long enough to know how it lasts over time. It is making my camera battery charger options feel disappointing, as silly as it sounds.

this product helps to quickly swap batteries for my sony camera. What i have noticed is they do not seem to last as long as OEM. Nonetheless having 0 down time having back up battery is worth it
