Review: Light, comfortable, lots of peripheral hearing, and in a gorgeous light blue. - These might be the most comfortable earbuds I've ever had. They tuck most of the weight/pressure behind the ear, which gives a really transparent feeling. It's better than clip-on designs, which hang off the side of the ear. These are slightly heavier than clip-ons, but because of their placement, it actually feels less noticeable. These also stay much more secure, because of the earhooks holding everything in place. What I like about it is that the main body of the bud is smaller than on a lot of competitors, like the Shokz Openfit (comparison photo added). There's less weight, so when you turn your head, the buds don't generate any inertia. Turning your head with Shokz give the feeling like they're about the fall out, while these sit tight. The body is smaller, so it touches less of your skin, and feels more like there's nothing on your ear at all. As far as I can tell, the Nothing (open) seems to have the smallest earbud body out of any open earbud design. The disc seems to sit further away from the ear canal than clip-ons and other open designs as well. The effect that this has is to increase peripheral hearing, since incoming sounds are less likely to be blocked by the earbuds. That plus the low weight and good location makes for a very transparent feeling listening experience. The battery life is good, about 8 hours, which about is the usual. The earbuds are color coded to their spot in the charging case. One minor oversight on an otherwise well designed charging case: while a cord is in the charging port, the case doesn't fully open. Other than that, the case is a highlight of the product. The sound quality is good, not excellent. For better sound quality in an open earbud, you'd want a clip-on design, like the Baseus Inspire XC1, which has a similar price point to the Nothing (open). But then again, if you want truly good sound quality, you'd go for IEMs or proper over-ear headphone. These aren't too bad, and the EQ can be adjusted in the app, but those who prefer lots of bass might be left wanting. My one major design complaint is that the cylinder at the end of the earhooks really doesn't need to exist. It's a hard chunk of plastic, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't do anything, but it applies an every so slight amount of increased weight and pressure. The (open) is comfortable, but it could be more comfortable if those tabs were shrunken down or removed. All in all a solid earbud with a great visual design, clever sound cues to indicate device state (beeps and boops on connection/disconnect, rather than spoken phrases), and quick and responsive multipoint. Though for all its good points, I'd give it a skip if you need proper waterproofing, strong bass, or the best possible sound quality.

They're optimized for Maintaining SA (Situational Awareness) while delivering clear & excellent audio w/o blocking ANY outside sound. It's PURPOSELY designed to not seal your ear canal or be inserted into your ears; that's BY DESIGN! Go watch the original YT videos about these and why they were created, the CEO of 'Nothing' explains what problems they were designed to solve. So anybody telling you that you have to insert these into your ear canals are HIGHLY misinformed as to their design goals & usage. You ARE SUPPOSED to leave them hanging right outside of the ear canals, you ARE "NOT supposed to insert them into your ear" for ANY reason. If you want EarBuds that seal your ear canals, "Nothing" offers other EarBuds for those purposes, please go look at them. Now, lets get back to the review. I'm coming from using the "Nothing Ear Stick". Those were good EarBuds that mimiced the design of the original Apple AirPods. Those still touched the openings in your ear and sealed the larger openings right outside w/o any silicone being shoved into the smaller ear openings. For me, that blocked out too much noise for my tastes, I wanted MORE SA (Situational Awareness). I don't want audio Transparency Modes, I just wanted the real thing; w/o lag from the EarBuds internal processing. This literally solves that problem for me and does a great job at it. The Battery life is pretty good. Initial tests in phone calls led to good Battery Usage. 15% Ear Open Power ~= 1.0 hr Talk Time. Reaching the Marketing Claims of 8 hr per Ear Open unit seems very realistic w/o recharging. Pure PodCast Listening is easier on the batteries, I'm able to get many hours w/o having to charge the Ear Opens. I've only drained the case battery down to 65% despite having over 8 hours of podcast listening + Long conversations over the phone. I haven't recharged it after the initial charge to full for the case + Ear Opens. BTW, I got these 2 days before the official Release Date of Sep 30. I got them on Sep 28, thanks desertcart! So I've got extra time to use them. This marks the First Week of using them during my Every Day routines. Comfort wise, I LOVE it, the Audio Drivers sit right outside your Ear, nothing gets shoved into the larger or smaller orifices in your ear. I can hear everything around me & maintain SA. Nobody seems to be able to hear what's being broadcasted as well, if they really wanted to hear something, their ear has to be right next to your Ear Opens. At that point, you've got other issues if somebody has their ears so close that your heads are about to collide. So far, I'm loving my first week of using these Ear Opens, I like them more than my Ear Sticks, which were already excellant. While driving the audio quality is clearer & louder, despite not having any seal into my ear, and I can hear everything around me as well. So it solves my problem of maintaining SA while out about on the street, or while driving. Audio call quality is pretty good, nothing to write home about. It's clear enough, but don't expect it to mimic any professional level microphones. It's good enough for it's class of EarBuds, especially at it's price. There is a small rattle in the case, I wish there was something they could do to solve that. I'll improvise a solution in the mean time. Over-All, these are AWESOME EarBuds. These might be the most comfortable earbuds I've ever had. They tuck most of the weight/pressure behind the ear, which gives a really transparent feeling. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great comfortable open ear buds. Used with purpose you'll have few complaints.

Overall these are excellent earbuds for daily wear. They don't get too loud so it doesn't ever feel like I'm blasting sound into my ears but it produces clear audio especially for voices which is what I use it for. Very rarely do I use them to listen to music but when I have most of the music made it through minus some frequencies that are a bit lower depending on the music. The controls are great, I rarely accidentally "squeeze" them. When taking them off or putting them on it's easy to grab them, and they only really move so much I almost always put them on with very little effort or adjusting. The few downsized are they generally are comfortable except when I have sunglasses or safety glasses on. Where glasses sit on the ear they either press down on the plastic embedding it into the ear or push them aside making the fit uncomfortable. The other is just that if I have them on and no audio is coming through, I'll forget they are on. Take off your shirt with them on and they'll randomly fly in either direction. Also the fit never really "feels" secure mainly because they don't really attach to the ear canal, just hover over it. You can manipulate the bigger end and push it so it friction fits near the base of your ear lobe, but eventially will loosen and you get what you get. It's not a deal breaker but I'd like to see how some of the competitors fit. Overall I'm starting to like these much more than in ear. For music I'll stick to over the ear but for daily use listening to mainly podcasts and audiobooks these are great.
