There’s just something about them that hits all the right spots and sucker punches me in the feels every single time. Make Her Mine wasn’t only sexy, fast-paced and incredibly heartfelt, but it was also absolutely one of those single dad stories that will leave your heart and soul so happy and full. Ashlan and Jace will steal your heart, but Jace’s little girls will OWN you. Make Her Mine, a standalone in Laura Pavlov’s Honey Mountain series brings us swoony single dad, Jace and the sweet and caring Ashlan Thomas. The beautiful chemistry and connection are there, but so are the fear, doubts, and uncertainties. Jace struggles with his feelings regarding Ashlan’s younger age and the fact that he’s a long term friend of the Thomas family...not to mention he’s hanging on a thread when it comes to his two daughters, Paisley and Hadley. I absolutely ADORED this wondrous romance! The characters, the scenery, the scorching hot chemistry…I couldn’t get enough! This is pure romance at its best. Laura Pavlov writes a realistic setting intertwined with comical scenes, tears, happiness, a little angst, sexy scenes and just so many real-life moments. There are so many really wonderful moments in this book, between Ashlan and Jace and Jace and his daughters, that gave this story so much feeling. It’s such a sweet, and sexy, story, with a bit of angst, a little frustration, and a whole lot of joy. Everything I’ve come to expect and love from Laura Pavlov. This story is just full of happiness, heat, and charm all wrapped up amongst the pages. This book is spot on when it comes to experiencing all the feels! I couldn't get enough and I'm counting down the days until I get to make the beautiful escape to Honey Mountain once again. Review: A Sweet Read Highlighing the Everyday Man As a Romantic Hero - A sweet read with just enough plot to keep a reader engaged without fully diving into angst or dragging us through unnecessary misunderstandings. ***Spoilers are encased with ⚠️ emojis on either side First, I adore the town of Honey Mountain. This is the first book in the series I've read and the town and its people are so lively. Laura Pavlov did an excellent job in making the charm and appeal of small town life shine. In addition to that, I loved how much a part of the firefighter life she wove into the story. It wasn't just Jace's occupation, nor was it something reflected on from Ashlan's childhood. We got to see him at work both around the house and out fighting fires, as well as see her in the role of a family member with not one but three loved ones working on the front lines. Now the characters. Jace's daughters were adorable. Their personalities were so robust and distinct without appearing older than they were. Their shift in confidence and mindset was a gradual, believable change, showcasing not only how wonderful of a father Jace is but how natural, caring, and giving Ashlan is their nanny. More than any moment from Ashlan or Jace's POV, seeing the growth of his daughters really illustrated for the reader just how kind and patient Ashlan is. We aren't just told that she's a sweet, understanding soul, we are shown it in numerous ways with the gradual blossoming of Paisley and especially Hadley. Ashlan at times I felt lacked any flaws. I cannot recall a single moment throughout the book where she exhibited less than perfection in her character traits. There's a snappish moment when she and she and Jace cross paths with ⚠️ Karla, the girls' mother ⚠️ while out on a date, later a few justifiable flares of jealousy over ⚠️Karla's return to the girls' lives and her subsequent removal from their lives to ensure Jace has the best shot at keeping his daughters with the custody battle his ex-wife is waging ⚠️, and then finally, and again justifiable, ⚠️ her devastation and heartbreak after removing herself from Jace and the girls amidst the custody battle ⚠️. That said, at no point did her lack of flaws turn me off from the story. In fact, it did just the opposite. Ashlan truly is the breath of fresh air and the sunshine the king family needed. Anything but her compassion shining through would have felt disingenuous to her character. As for Jace... Holy hotness, someone call the Honey Mountain Fire Department, this man is bring the heat! He is sexy, he is passionate, devoted, and a wonderful father. He is the perfect romantic hero for Ashlan and wonderful inspiration for her own romance novel that she's writing throughout the course of the novel. Best of all, he is undeniably human. I genuinely felt while reading this book that a man like Jace King, while the star of a romance novel, is a completely obtainable standard of a man. There was nothing about him that screamed, "Yeah, this could only be found within the pages of a book," and I think that is a true testament to how stellar of a writer Laura Pavlov is. She isn't making her readers fall in love with a fantasy but with an actual, real man, with real struggles and flaws, who is doing his best every single day and showing up at every moment. My only true criticism of the book was that at times things felt a bit repetitive. Some sections of the book read nearly verbatim as others. There were also points when reading that the passage of time read more like a summary of something that happened in a book than as if we were reading a novel. I also would have liked to have seem a bit more of Ashlan's journey as a writer since we got great scenes of Jace as a firefighter, but I feel that is beginning to actively look for flaws in the story. Overall, Make You Mine, is a great small town, single dad and nanny romance story. There's a little bit of drama, a dash of angst, but through it all you're never worried about what the outcome of the story will be, merely how will we get there. I cannot wait to explore the stories of the other Thomas sisters in Honey Mountain after reading this one.

BOOKWORM REVIEW: Make You Mine by Laura Pavlov
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥 I know kids in romance reads can sometimes be a mood killer, but Laura Pavlov finds the right balance to make you fall in love WITH THEM and the main characters. Ashlan - one-fifth and the youngest of Honey Mountain's infamous Thomas sisters - is just glad to have this nanny gig. Fresh out of college, she was not looking forward to living at home with her dad, so finding this live-in nanny job with the two most adorable children is a jackpot. Having a sexy, caring firefighter as her boss is her bonus. His being equally attracted to her is an even bigger bonus. Too bad she and Jace are too hesitant to act on their feelings for each other. After all, she works for him, and that decade-wide age gap is another reason being together is a no-go. Yet, the universe keeps throwing them signs that they are each other's happily ever after. Will they follow the signs or continue ignoring them? Jace and Ashlan are relationship goals. Sometimes I forget about their age gap until it is mentioned again in the story, because Laura Pavlov does a phenomenal job of developing such a mature character in Ashlan despite her age. I especially love when this becomes even more obvious when certain adversity arises in their relationship. Their connection clearly centers around family, and that story is established, developed, and paced really well from beginning to end. I really enjoyed how their immediate and extended families are so relatable. The "potty incident" especially had me laughing in tears, because it is such realistic chaos when it comes to small children. Speaking of, Paisley and Hadley King stole the show in every scene they are in, and they are guaranteed to steal your heart. Their presence and character development really drive home the focus on family. This can be read as a standalone, but I have loved Pavlov's Honey Mountain series so far. If you are a fan of big-family, small-town romances, I am sure you will, too.

My favorite in the Honey Mountain series so far!
We're back in the small town of Honey Mountain with the third book in the series by the same name from Laura Pavlov! Make You Mine is a standalone, as were the first two Honey Mountain novels, Always Mine and Ever Mine, but there are recurring characters and potential spoilers with regards to what happened in the aforementioned books. That being said, this is Ashlan Thomas and Jace King's story, the former having just graduated from college and is the youngest among the Thomas sisters, each of whom gets a book in this series, and the latter being one of the firefighters who work under the Thomas sisters's father, Captain Jack Thomas, whom he considers a mentor and very close friend. Le sigh. I totally adored Ashlan and Jace's story! These two had the whole sexual tension thing going on, due in large part to their resistance of what was blossoming between them. I loved that there wasn't this protracted issue regarding Ashlan's dad, and that the ten-year age difference wasn't made into this overly big deal. Their respective support systems were top-notch, and having such a great bunch of peripheral characters--from Ashlan's family to the other firefighters Jace considers family--but it's Jace's daughters, Paisley and Hadley that are the absolute standouts. Seeing this family come together and find their happily-ever-after is the biggest reason why Make You Mine receives five stars.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
It’s a good read. Nice story. A little bit of angst, lots of adorable baby moments. I felt Paisley was portrayed a little more grown up than she really was. But maybe it was because of everything she has been thru with her mom in her short years. Hadley was so adorable. And I honestly cried a little in some scenes. Ashlan it’s this 20some years old family friend turned nanny, for Jace’s little girls. She’s sweet and kind and maternal. And honestly I felt a little identified with her. Her relationship with the girls was beautiful. And they loved her. And then her and Jace were great together. This book is a great story for a chill day at home. It’s a quick read as well. I would totally recommend it if you don’t mind some minor details that I feel could’ve been different.

Cheesefest
Omg this book. It's so sweet, funny, heartbreaking, and full of love. I may not like the heroine (Ashton) at the start because she seems so eager to get the attention of the hero. I'm not against going after what you want, but when he outright rejected her but she still persist it looked like a bit desperate attempt for me. Maybe others will find it adorable because of her tenacity, but not with me. I did end up liking her more to my surprise. Her love, patience, and sacrifice just shows how much of a better person she is and how she fits perfectly to their family. She deserves all the good things that came her way. As for the hero (Jace), at first I get frustrated with him because he keeps pushing her away, but then I get where he's coming from. All of his concerns were valid, I just wished he didn't look so low of himself, when all he did was to be a great father to his daughters. I'm glad when he finally embraced his emotions and finally act on them. He deserves this second chance as much as the heroine. He has been through a lot as well, but not once he gave up on his kids. I love how he never gave up on Ash, even though that's tricky on his current situation. He really wanted to fight this battle along with her. As for the drama, gosh it was exhausting in a good and bad way. It's bad because it took almost the second half of the book. Good on the other side, because the characters really step up for the betterment of the people involved. That ex-wife witch is really something, I can't with her. She's the utter definition of toxic. Admittedly there were times were I actually teared up because it was just heartbreaking. The sacrifices made and pain felt by the people involved were just too much to handle. At the end of the day, I'm glad that everything was resolved. That HEA is very much deserved by everyone. ❤️

Best of the Honey Mountain series! Hot Single Dad, Age Gap, Nanny/Boss to Lovers
I am so in love with this series! It just keeps getting better, especially since Jace King finally got his HEA. I have been patiently **ok I lie, more like impatiently** waiting for Jace’s story. I legit fell in love with him in book 1. How could I not, not only did he push Niko in the right direction with Vivi… but he’s a hot fire fighting single dad devoted to his daughters. Like for real, cue the panty melt. In this story we find the baby of the Thomas Sisters clan, Ashlan, nannying for Jace and his 2 sweet girls Paisley and Hadley. Ashlan is a budding romance novelist, and while working for Jace she finds her own romance story to be written with him and his precious girls. I loved A. She is just so kind hearted and full of love. She had me bawling with the acts of love and care she freely gave to Jace’s little girls, pumping my fist at her determination to get Jace to let her in into his heart and of course crying again when she put the people she loves the most first even if it hurts her. Jace is seriously the best. It took him a minute to realize he deserves to be happy. Thanks for that Cap, you’re the best dad ever! Jace is book husband material! When he finally lets Ash in, he goes ALL in. He is sweet, romantic, has a little bit of a dirty mouth, and boy did he just steal my heart. And when things went sideways, his love for Ash never wavered. It was truly something else. If you haven’t stated this series yet, you must! Grab a drink, some tissues and be prepared to devour this book. It will have you catching all the feels, because that’s what LP does. She is so good at pulling on your heart strings, making you laugh, gasp at the angst, shake your fist at the problems and give you the sexy goods all while making you swoon with her swexy (yup im making up new words) as sin MMCs and strong independent FMCs. A sweet steamy HEA guaranteed, just how I like it! Next up is Charlotte. Besties Bro? Umm, yes please! Swoony + Sexy = SWEXY

IT HAS ALL THE FEELS!
I am new to Laura Pavlov’s works. I love firefighters x small town rom-coms. I started with Niko+Vivi. I love their story. I love the firehouse scenes and the Thomas family gatherings. It was then I started getting interested with Jace King… because single dads rom-coms are one of my favs too. Plus JACE KING is the man! What a dad! Hot hot hot damn! I had no idea him and Ashlan will be an item. When I was reading the first book, in my head I was actually plotting him and Charlie might be it but I could not quite feel it right in my gut. Then here comes Hawk+Ever’s story and I always turn mushy when Jace King is mentioned. I seriously screamed yes with a sky fist bump when their mutual attraction were hinted. Talk about both of them pining for each other for a long time. I could feel all the feels! The swoons, comedy, sexual tensions, sizzling chemistry, the angst and melancholy. Geezzz this book was sizzling! The conflict in the end took me like tsuanami wave! I even fell more madly inlove with Mr Hotstuff Dad-Fireman. 100% he deserves an amazing woman - caring and loving not only to him but to his girls. He earned his beautiful second chance filled with all the sunshine in the form of Ashlan Thomas! My only complain is that I wish there was more to the ending! I finished Charlie’s story and I am so glad there is a beautiful Jace+Ash scene! I was excited to read Dylan’s to find out more of them. I wish to read Jace+Ash wedding and having more kids! They’re my top favorite couple in this series. ❤️
