Slicing bread with a knife is a skill that can be learned but this provides a consistency that is very difficult to achieve by hand and makes it simple. I bought this after watching several videos which made this seem the most sturdy option among several similarly functioning manual slicers. I considered a folding one and another one that appears very similar to this one but is cheaper and made of plastic. Those both seemed to flex and bend while this one did not. This is the "upgraded metal" version of a slicer which is sold under more than one name and made with plastic parts. I can say this is substantial and sturdy and I suspect worth the additional cost over the plastic version. The thickness adjustment is easy and consistent and slicing is very uniform so long as the loaf is fed into the blade properly. I find the suction cups to be more than adequate. It does not slide on my counter. It slices very well and easily. I see from product videos that many people aren't using these slicers very efficiently and I offer these tips if you're having trouble: turn the crank faster and smoothly and have it up to speed before you feed it the loaf. Be careful about pushing the bread at funny angles which will cause uneven thickness. Push it gently from front to back, not down or hard against the face of the blade. I suspect that people who complain about the bread tearing at the end of the cut are not actually feeding the loaf all the way through and are stopping before the bottom of the loaf has fully cleared the blade. If slicing more than one piece, let the second slice clear the previous slice rather than pulling each slice, one at a time, from behind the blade.

I debated buying this for months before finally pulling the trigger, and I’m so happy I did! It has made slicing my homemade sourdough bread much easier, and the results are so much more consistent. This has truly been a game changer. It’s very lightweight, but don’t let that fool you—it feels sturdy and holds up well while slicing. One of my favorite features is the suction cups on the bottom of the base. They keep it securely in place on the countertop, so it doesn’t slide around while you’re cutting. It makes slicing much easier and gives me nice, even slices compared to cutting by hand. It’s simple to use, and because it’s so lightweight, it’s easy to move and store when I’m finished. Overall, this is a practical kitchen tool that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If you’re looking for an affordable bread slicer that stays stable during use, I definitely recommend it.

This is wonderful!!! It is so easy to cut even sourdough slices and sourdough has a tougher crust. It has suction cups to prevent it from sliding on the counter. And you can easily adjust the width of the slices. I’ve only used it a few times so I can’t speak to durability.

I recently started making sourdough bread and purchased a nice bread knife and even had a slicing guide. Well the slicing guide was thick plastic and before long it broke. I tried slicing without the guide and ended up with very inconsistent slices. I decided to do some research and purchased this slicer. The slicer is heavy and seems well made. The 4 suction cups hold it solidly in place. I love that you can adjust the thickness. I chose the red one and it's a nice color. It comes with a brush to help remove crumbs, so cleaning is a breeze. It also comes with a tool for adjusting, if/when needed. I am very happy with this product.

The product itself is self-explanatory. It was well packaged and ready to use, just washed and dried and it was ready to go. The plus on this one it has a bar that holds the bread slice away from the handle when you’re turning it some others do not have that and the bread slice gets in the way of the turning handle, it also has a a knob you can adjust for the thickness of the slices. I feel it’s very safe to use. You are in control of the handle and the bread and it slices beautifully.It is lightweight and the suction is extremely secure which I had to move one suction at a time to get it off the counter. No fear in it slipping but remember this is a manual slicer, you go at your own speed! Would recommend.

SOLID! Product has a nice thick wooden base with strong suction cups. The blade and guide are sturdy with no wobbling! Handle rotates smoothly while slicing bread or bagels with no snagging. Super easy to use and adjust thickness. This slicer allows for even, quick and beautifully sliced breads in seconds. Comes with brush to remove crumbs in the blade well and a tool for tightening guide. In love with this slicer so far.

I had initially gotten the plastic guide cutting (cheapish price) to use with my bread knife but it was challenging to cut straight and the slices were inconsistent. I realize it was my lack of skill but it was frustrating. Since I really enjoy making and eating sourdough I decided to Annie up my game and purchase this slicer. The best purchase ever! It’s easy to use and consistent in its cut. The price was worth it.
