Authentic Ladbrooke Mini 5 Soil Blocker, Five 1.5" Blocks, England

I waited a while before purchasing this soil blocker. I was looking at price and watching videos to learn how to use it. I finally bit the bullet and bought the Ladbrooke Mini 5, 1.5" x 1.5". It took me a little bit to learn what the correct amount of water and soil mix to use but in no time I was making soil blocks. This tool is well made and very easy to clean just using water after each use. It should be a long lasting investment for years to come.

I’ve done over 2,000 blocks (that’s only 20 1020 trays full) and am happy with it. I get a lot more blocks in a tray than with the 2” blocker I’ve had for years. I use this one almost exclusively- I only use 2” for things that are going to stay I blocks a long time. Otherwise this fits more seedlings per tray (so onto my limited heat mat space or limited grow lights) and uses less blocking mix per plant. Had it over a year, no sign of rust or deterioration.

Soil blocking is the way to go for stronger plants. This product works like a charm if you find the right soil recipe.

It works as advertised. I have only made a few hundred starts so far. This will pay for itself in one tray of starts since I used to purchase start from dome depot and almost $4 for a six pack. I only gave 4 starts because the nipples keep falling off. I do not know if it is the plastic or if I am doing something wrong at this point. I will be ordering a spare kit of nipples though before I lose one or two.

New to seed blocking. This seems to work well. The little plastic wells pop out every now and then but that might just be user error.

I am a soil blocking newbie. After seeing a few people recommend the Ladbrooke brand soil blockers, I decided to make the investment. I was not disappointed! My first round has been a success (minus my cat attempting to walk across them 🫠). I opted to use a high quality organic potting soil that I sifted through 1/4” hardware cloth to remove any larger chunks. It was rather easy. I have no doubt this will last a lifetime with proper care and cleaning. I’m excited to use less plastic as well as have healthier more robust transplants! Note regarding the seller: there was a one off issue when I ordered and my package didn’t ship on time. After requesting a refund from Amazon, I was looking at other options for ordering. Well a week later a package arrived on my doorstep. To my disbelief it was this soil blocker. Enclosed was a handwritten thank you note from the owner apologizing for the misstep and telling me to keep the soil blocker on them. Wow, just wow! It is rare you find this level of customer service yet alone someone owning up to human error and making it right. I’ll absolutely order from them again! Thank you!
