just bought this sat nav tom tom go advance ive got to say it is a very good clear screen and easy to use set up very good. i found the on lane guidence on a motorway very clear and presise the only not quite so good thing is the volume was a little low but still just about ok not to much going on with it kinda plain and simple realy like it a big improvement on the tom tom start 20 i only make reviews when im shure its a good buy realy impressed

This is the best TOMTOM I have had so far. Very easy to use and update on the device itself. WARNING... do not connect to tomtom my Drive as it corrupted my previous tomtom which I had to return for a refund. TOMTOM support is useless too.

What the actual?? £122 for a device that won’t stay connected?? It wants both Bluetooth and personal hotspot AND WiFi and won’t stay connected to any of them! I’ve been messing around with this now for nearly 2 hours!! I click on the WiFi page and it’s just black except for the exit 9/10 times. Response to touch is ridiculously slow, ohh screen has gone black again. This better be a temporary glitch or it’s getting returned - ohh, it wants me to activate my tomtom services yet again!!! Omg! Update: I’ve never hated a device as much as I’ve hated this one. Not only will it not stay connected, it’s incredibly slow, doesn’t turn on when the car starts, keeps losing connection to my tomtom account, didnt show passwords when you type them in, takes ages to log in if it actually does, didnt have anywhere near the features my old 10 year device has (I’ve been inspired to just update the maps), you have to pay an additional subscription to access live traffic and even the updates failed multiple times before I could update it. This whole experience has put my off tomtom for life. They sell expensive crappy devices that done work then charge you a subscription for basic functions. Just use your mobile instead!!! It’s been returned.

It's quite a good SatNav, as TomTom always are. However, it doesn't hold a charge as well as my previous SatNavs, maybe because it was a "Used" model rather than new. Usually these used items are just the same as the new ones. All in all, it was only £90, and will do the job, if necessary keeping it plugged in.

Initially I was quite pleased with this device, an upgrade from an older Via model I bought a long time ago. My review is thus based on a comparison of the 2. Plus points - Nice big screen, well laid out. Options for linking via Bluetooth or WiFi as well as the USB connection option. The Windows app Go Connect recognised the new TomTom, and gave the option of adding it to my list of devices (next to the Via). Does the job of navigating well. Minus - Doesn't seem to want to download updates through the USB cable, I had to tell it my WiFi password to get them that way. My Via had the Brian Blessed voice, bought some years ago. It's not available for the new TomTom. There are a list of generic voices available, but the selection screen is poor, no sorting or filter option, just a scrolling list of large icons with a short summary. 4 across the line (on my resolution) and 1.5 lines visible. It would also be nice to have a battery level indicator, this model doesn't seem to have one, though there is a mention of a low battery alarm. Verdict: Overall disappointed, I may send this back and go back to my older model, or even look for a non-TomTom alternative.

Have up-dated to T.T. Sat nav Go advance. Very easy to operate and is quicker than the one it replaces. Excellent product.

Took me a while to set up .found the best way was to download the app onto computer, then updating all maps as it would not download from wifi . Used once so far following directions got to remember when it says veer right or left does not mean turn right or left. As we did the first time we used it. If you go wrong it quickly works out new route .female voice is clearer than mans and we had to turn sound up to 80 % .it also. Needs plugging in at all times as the battery is not long lived.

Malgré des commentaires précédents négatifs , ce TomTom Go Advanced me paraît plutôt pas mal , mises à jour rapides et choix différents de l'itinéraire choisi . Comparé à celui que je possédait ( TomTom Go 5200) et qui ne fonctionnait pas correctement : chaque fois sur l'autoroute , cela m'indiquait de prendre la 1ere sortie , alors que je savais trés bien que c'était faux , ensuite la voix supposé m'informer des directions ne fonctionnait plus et souvent au départ , aprés avoir mis une destination supposée connue , cela m'indiquait le contraire ! Seul en ville ça restait correcte , par conséquent , j'espère qu'avec ce nouveau GPS , je n'aurait plus ces désagréments . De plus , concernant le prix de ce TomTom , je trouve que c'était moins cher que d'autres qui font les mêmes fonctions ( Monde , entre-autres)

Llevo mas de veinte años utilizando la marca y se lo he regalado a mi hijo que acaba de empezar a coger su coche. La actualización de mapas es mas fácil ya que se hace directamente por wifi y no hay que pasar por un ordenador. La pantalla es muy muy grande, mi modelo actual es de 5" (start 52) y se nota un montón, es mas reactivo y preciso.

I can see why they are going away from hardware business, they are pretty bad at it. Firstly, why is a device purchased that is called Go Advanced, becomes Go Camper Tour upon registration? That just confuses the consumer. Secondly, the interface looks good but the underlying software is a mess. I can understand why downloading maps takes a long time but why does deleting maps take almost an hour, is there a need to securely delete it? It should be almost instantaneous. Finally the map, especially the POIs, even when it's updated on Nov 2025, compared to the android app is different and very outdated, why is there such a big difference when it's the same company? I purchased the hardware after I am happy with the app but I prefer a standalone device, and it's not even close to the same. The wifi is also very wonky when you hotspot to it Finally, I would say the device, screen and navigation looks great. Please put in more effort on improving the map and POIs.
