Works well, did the job.
I've always been a little worried about using chemicals in the tank, but this stuff was great, along with the ammonia it cycled the tank very quickly, haven't had any problems so far, it's been a week with the fish in and still all readings are as they should be, did my first sand clean and water change today and all is good. This stuff works.

My go to for all my new tanks and established tanks
This product is great for those not patient for a full cycle. Product is great if you want to introduce fish and running a fish only system. If growing corals I recommend using it but also doing a full cycle as the lights can cause a very tough ugly stage

Did the job in my new tank
I bought this to cycle a new 255 litre reef tank. The instructions were very clear and there are a couple of very useful videos on line. I followed the instructions to the letter in terms of dosing and testing and the cycle happened just as should, going through the various stages. Personally I much prefer to use something like this rather than use a live fish which would likely be stressed by the poor water quality during the cycle. One concern I did have was that if you followed the instructions fully it states that the tank would be ready for fish after 9 days. This certainly wasn’t the case and it wasn’t until day 15 the the nitrate levels had fallen to zero making the tank fully cycled. I would suggest not following the 9 day suggestion but relying on the results from ammonia, nitrite and nitrate tests. However I was still happy with a 15 day cycle so would use this again if I ever start a new tank.

Not convinced...
I have added this to my tank as per instructions and correct dose 4 weeks ago. Currently my tank has reading for ammonia and nitrite but has not completed the nitrification cycle as it doesn't have any nitrates. Don't think i would have purchased this had I known the outcome.

I used it in my 3 year established 90 gallon reef tank. I had a bad cyno outbreak after some long overdue tank maintenance. Within 2 weeks of usage the cyno is almost completely gone. My corals are very happy and even though I went full strength during the initial treatment my corals and fish had no negative reactions. Before I added the Eco balance I siphoned out half the sand in my tank and used regular hose water to clean it and remove all the detritus. I usually use RODI and I'm sure most of the cyno came from that rinse. The rest of the sand was stirred up and I siphoned off as much waste as I could find. Afterwards I added the siphoned sand back into the tank. and repeated the process of stirring and syphoning. I also did a 50% water change with RODI water.

fights algae Cyano Dinos you name it. I have always kept a bottle on hand ever since my first battle with Dinos. dose this stuff let it settle in for about 14/15 hours and then run a UV and that was it. I've never had any issues since. works really well at battling algae and red slime. its always good to supplement the reef with some strong bacteria. dr Tims and vibrant have become 2 of my go to products. personally I have had great experiences using both.

I bought API marine bacteria from PetSmart 2 weeks ago, and watched the NO2 levels remain very high. I had bought this before with great results, but I didn’t want to wait for shipping. I finally bought this, and it arrived this week. I just dumped the whole bottle (no fish in tank) and within 2 days the Nitrates went from 100mg/l to 0 and the nitrites went from 5mg/l to 0. Next time I’ll just use this to begin with.
