ViewSonic M1 Portable LED Projector for Home & Family Entertainment with Harman Kardon Audio,Silver

Keep an eye on this as they do drop the price from time to time (at the time of this review - Oct 2018 - price dropped to £248). Absolutely brilliant for home use - bright, sharp images, excellent sound from Harman/Kardon speakers, compact remote control, rechargeable battery with good battery life, completely portable projector. So glad I purchased this rather than cheaper models - this is simply an excellent product for the price. For Apple users, get the official certified lightning to HDMI adapter (see my separate review) - bite the bullet and fork out £50 for it as no other adapter will work. Once you get it, it connects and streams seamlessly from iPhone and iPad. As at end of October 2018, I’ve streamed Netflix, Amazon Prime, BT Sport, Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, YouTube plus loads of other apps. As another reviewer has said, Sky Go does not stream due to licensing restrictions. Only slight cons I feel worth mentioning: - there is a bit of light bleed around the edges of the projector - some people may find the fan slightly noisy (although I find that once the audio is playing, it’s not that noticeable) - the stand doesn’t quite stand true so you may need to adjust it None of the above mentioned cons materially change the experience for me - the overall quality and functionality of the product at this price is amazing.

I did a lot of research before this purchase. Really love this device, and I think it offers a lot for those willing to spend a little more than a cheap portable projector. The speakers really pump out great sound, and I love the portability. Screen quality is pretty good, the contrast makes up for the lack of resolution. It isnt bright enough to watch in full daylight, but fine with the curtains drawn or the lights slightly dimmed. Overall very happy with the purchase. The only cons I have encountered so far: - over time, the arm seems to have sagged. My picture is now crooked if I am projecting straight. A bit frustrating, and we always prop it up to get it straight - the fan can be a little loud, sort of like a 10 year old laptop running its fan on full. The speakers are loud enough to cover this though - the dial on the side for the focus occasionally unfocuses after a little bit. Can be annoying

The item is definitely a unique design which can persuade many at a glance. Small, light and relatively quiet. The image quality for short distance is satisfactory. There are two shortcomings tho. One is the claimed 120000:1 contrast ratio which is not only untrue but rather unrealistic for this device at this price range. Another is the brightness, especially when projecting on bigger screens or in medium or above light levels. If you are happy with these, you are unlikely returning this item as it comes in very nice packing and definitely does the job to a good extent.

Not only is this projector very good, the customer service from Viewsonic is outstanding. First the product. A really compact lightweight portable projector with excellent connectivity. We use a Firestick directly into the HDMI to deliver all the usual streaming services. Picture quality is decent. Impressive for the size and better the darker the room. Sound quality is excellent. The projector itself is quiet. Now customer service. Nearly two years after purchasing, the projector stopped working. An email to Viewsonic and their tech department called me back quickly. When troubleshooting didn't help, they offered to collect the projector from my home, repair it and return it at no cost to me. No hassle for me. Within 10 days the projector was back and working good as new. Cannot praise Viewsonic customer service highly enough. Fantastic.

Great picture quality, not quite HD but very sharp. Decent sound quality, though you may want to hook up separate speakers, which you conveniently can do through the common aux port. The device has ports for everything from HDMI, Aux and Micro SD to a handy USB C port too! It's also very nicely hidden and comes out by pulling on the fabric attached to it which was a nice touch. The housing is super slim and the device itself is small and portable with a built in stand and a handy carry pouch which also includes a useful USB-C to USB-C cable. Overall, great piece of kit. Good step up!

The most perfect projector i’ve ever used. Perfect for in the house, hooking up via HDMI is very busy. And my PS4 works and looks perfect. Can handle a 4K video with no problems. And its battery life is amazing. Well worth the investment. Have recommended it all my friends.

WOW!!, only had this for a few days, but cant stop using it. For such a small projector the brightness is great for home use. I put videos on to USB stick and I'm completely wireless for about 4 hours. It quotes up to 6 hrs, but I use full brightness and audio quite high. Talking of Audio, the HK speakers are brilliant, giving a genuine depth and range. I'm so glad I purchased this viewsonic projector. Colours are very strong and vivid. Even watched a movie on my bedroom ceiling in bed, how cool is that! I also used the Amazon Fire-stick which is perfect for streaming video though the projector. I checked out much of the competition and went with the viewsonic M1, because at this price it's an absolute bargain and so much better than other mini projectors in this price range. I can easily get 48" to 65" screen size without any distortion. I'm loving it!!

Worked well for a while and then suddenly the light turned off and no longer comes on.. expensive and very disappointing

We have a remote, off the grid yurt and we wanted to be able to watch movies with a battery powered projector. I looked at a lot of them and chose this one based on battery length. The projector has 4 settings for the battery usage. In Full mode, the light is bright but you will only get about 2 hours out of the battery. On Eco mode you can get over 5, but the light looks dim. We have found that Extended Eco gives us about 4 hours of playing time, but the picture still is quite bright. We use an 84 inch portable screen and the picture is very clear and crisp. We put the projector on a small table about 4 feet from the screen and use the built in stand and it works great. And it is very easy to use. It comes with a USB C to USB C cord that I use to stream live TV (Hulu) from my Android phone. This drains the battery however because the projector charges my phone while running. Most of the time, we watch movies that I have downloaded onto my iPad. The iPad doesn't need to charge while playing which saves the projector battery. In order to connect an Apple product, I got an HDMI to Apple lightning converter plug. The projector has a USB C input, an HDMI input, as well as a USB. You can plug in a USB stick to play videos, but I have never done this. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this projector. It stores compactly, has a really nice picture and sound (although to make it really loud I connect my JBL portable speaker into it), has great battery life, and is easy to use. It's worked great for outdoor movies.

Ich hatte - als VW T6 California Camper und als Wohnwagen Camper - lange überlegt, ob nicht so ein portabler Beamer interessant sein könnte! Letzte Woche habe ich mir dann aufgrund der super Rezensionen ein Herz gefasst und diesen Beamer bei Amazon bestellt! Und was soll ich sagen, ich bin schwer begeistert von der Bildqualität und Helligkeit der Projektion, von dem durchdachten, schicken Design und von der Kompaktheit und vom Qualitätseindruck/der Verarbeitung!!! Dann die lange Akku-Laufzeit und die Abspielmöglichkeit so vieler Formate und dann auch noch guter Klang in Anbetracht der Größe des Gerätes - Einfach klasse und unschlagbar für den Preis! Ich hatte mir dazu noch eine 60" Leinwand besorgt: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01N3C6YDH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Diese Leinwand lässt sich bei meinem Wohnwagen (Eriba Nova 392 von 2002) genau zwischen die oberen Schränke leicht und trotzdem sicher einspannen. Und schon habe ich im Wohnwagen echtes Kino-Feeling, in kürzester Zeit aufgebaut. Dann habe ich gestern den Beamer am Kopfende meiness Bettes aufgestellt und an die Decke einen Film (zuvor auf die lokale Festplatte kopiert) projeziert - wollte nur kurz testweise ausprobieren und war so hin und weg, dass ich den Film trotz fortgeschrittener Stunde unvernünftiger Weise zu Ende anschauen mußte... Also volle Kaufempfehlung von mir. Wenn das Gerät noch langfristig funktioniert (die LED soll ja 30.000 Stunden halten!!!), dann sind sogar 5 Sterne zu wenig ;-)

Outstanding, this thing really is a GREAT device, finally a keeper. I was looking for a portable little projector and I started with the RtTech little cube which is actually not bad at all except for the fact that the image is not focused on the whole screen at once, either left or right side is blurry, so it went back. Next came the Toumei, brighter image, but unnatural colors, no adjustment possible, could not connect wirelessly to Android phone, gone back. Aaxa M5, bad co,ors, bad remote, gone back. And so I get to this one, I was debating between the more expensive Xgimi and Nebula, but I thought that Viewsonic has been doing this for a longer time so they should have a better product, so they may have a product with the controls that I want for the image. And it does, this one has a normal UI, not the cheap Chinese nonsense, I get 80" from about 6' away, but no zoom, automatic Keystone but manual focus, not the end of the world. The speaker is superb, at par with a Sonos One, or very close. All in all, it is a great product, a little more luminance wouldn't hurt, but it has a very good image. Now I just have to find the friends to go party and watch movies at the edge of a forest as they show in all the pictures, sadly none were included. Realistically, I bought this to watch movies or YouTube in my backyard under the gazebo, can't wait to install my retractable screen for it. Next project, mosquitos control products.

L'image est parfaite pour mon usage, regarder des films et jouer à la Switch. Le manque de définition se fait sentir sur les petits caractères en jeu, en revanche pas de problème concernant les sous-titres. Aucun problème aussi, concernant la qualité de l'image au global. Le son délivré par le vidéoprojecteur, est suffisamment puissant pour être vraiment utilisable. Niveau batterie, autour de 2h40 en usage normal. Il faut l'utiliser dans un pièce bien sombre. Au final, c'est un produit bien conçu, il fait bien ce à quoi il est destiné. Il ne conviendra pas pour de la bureautique par son manque de définition, ou un usage quotidien par son manque de luminosité. Mais l'autonomie et le son sont très bon. Pour avoir un système multimédia portatif, il est parfait.
