Body-Solid Pro Clubline (SFID325) Adjustable Bench for Power Racks and Dumbbell Curls, Home and Commercial Gym

Received it earlier than scheduled - A+. Easy to put together.....did so without the instructions - A+. Wheels on one end, and handle on the other end make it easy to move around the floor - A+. Downside - It's a heavy bench - C. However, a heavy, well-built bench is exactly what I wanted, and what is needed for the person truly interested in getting a good workout. Haven't seen a lighter bench that performs as needed. Would I buy another - yes! Without hesitation.

Solid, heavy duty construction - very sturdy. Not much to assemble; a little bit tough to tighten the two bolts under the small seat, but otherwise no problems with assembly (have a 3/4 and 1/2 socket wrench and you will save a lot of time). The bench is a little bit narrow where the shoulders go, but still works for me (I am 6'1'' and weigh 215). A good deal for the money!

This is a very solid bench for long term use. I did not look for this bench to decline but to offer a solid platform for flat and incline exercise positioning. Heavy gauge steel and solid construction offer the user sound positioning for any exercise. This is a commercial piece of equipment and the craftsmen ship in the seat fabric shows it. Like anything else if you take care of your equipment this will offer many years of use.

Make no mistake, this SFID325 bench is built like a tank and will last several lifetimes. The bench is extremely heavy at 74-lbs. But the design needed more real world testing. Had anyone at Body Solid ever worked out on it, they'd quickly discover its three obvious flaws. First the decline is useless since there's no horizontal foot/leg bar to hold you from sliding down the pad. Wrapping your legs around the tubing only disengages the seat pad and you promptly slide onto the floor behind the bench. Second, the seat pad is held in the same manner as the back pad, and left unsecured, it needs a simple pin to hold it in place so it doesn't hop up and down when doing dumbbell rows or other off-bench exercises. Otherwise, it pulls up and clangs itself to another rung. Third, the seat itself is too narrow (less than a bicycle seat!), which makes simply sitting or resting on the bench uncomfortable. Though there is a normal gap between the seat pad and the back pad is wide when in the flat position, it's very difficult to put it in the full upright position. Therefore, I would NOT recommend this as an incline/decline bench. A more reasonable -- and far cheaper -- choice for the home gym is the Marcy Deluxe Utility Bench .

Good strong bench. However do not expect to use the bench for decline, go with the other model. I would not purchase a decline bench unless I physically try it out first. If you lift heavy you want to ensure your legs are locked and don't slip. Good for incline and regular bench press, plus shoulders. 2. After Use. I would not recommend this bench for serious weight lifters. My bench is uneven and rocks back and forth. We lifting heavy on the bench press, not much support for the shoulders. When working on shoulders, this bench seat pad, is made for someone with a tiny behind. You are able to sit on it, but don't expect much cushion.

I have had this bench for about a month now. My first impression looking at it in the box was, "This thing is going to be plenty solid." Once I pulled it out though, it was wobble city. I turned to my wife and said, "This is unusable." Imagine my dissapointment when this bench wasn't as stable as the $150 bench I bought from a big box store years earlier. Given that it is 90+ lbs I was reluctant to ship it back. Looking at the pivoting areas, it seemed that the tolerances were sloppy so I went to the hardware store and purchased some washers to try to make things more snug. This worked and now there is no wobble in the bench. I can use it safely and feel secure. Pros - - Solid, thick steel - as thick as commercial benches - Comes mostly assembled, you just have to put on the pads - Looks good, finish is excellent - Pads are firm, no problem bench pressing heavy weight on here - Easy to adjust and stays solidly in place, angle levels are appropriate - Wheels for moving are smooth and the handle makes moving very easy - Height is good. I am 5'7" and my feet are easily flat on the ground. Cons - - Needed to add washers to remove the slop in the pivots to make this bench usable and stable --- For $400+ I would think that I wouldn't have to do this, though it was an easy fix. - The bench at the top of the head is too narrow. At the hips it is 12" wide which is a standard width for a bench. At the head it is just a little over 8." This is too narrow for my liking, wish I had known it was this small before I bought it. If it didn't taper this significantly I would be happier with it. - Decline I guess, but I don't really use it and I am glad it doesn't have a big post in the front getting in my way and making the bench bigger than it needs to be.

This weight bench is as solid as it gets! Way more sturdy then the benches @ my gym! Arrived fast and was a breeze to put together! All you have to do is screw the back pad and seat pad to the bench (6 bolts total) and your ready to go!

sturdy, cushion is similar to that in a high quality gym. Excellent piece of equipment.
