The motor started right up after the install. If you replace the stator, replace the cdi. I was pleasantly surprised this thing worked.

Good Quality. Skeptical at first but it has been great purchase to revive 80s model mercury powered boat. It functions as it should. And I’ve put around 60 hours run time on it. So I think it’s a great value for a part that would cost hundreds from a shop. If it failed tomorrow I would still buy again.

Perfect fit on my 90s model Mercury 40hp. I installed over a year ago and have had no issues so far.

Also, warranty is provided only through marine repair shops and not DIY-ers. My 1995 Mercury 115 was not starting after it warmed up and you shut it off. Then it just wouldn't start at all. I checked all the fuel lines and replaced the gaskets in the fuel pump; no difference. I knew the compression was good so the only thing left was spark. Using my shop manual I did some resistance tests but they weren't any help at all so I took a stab in the dark and bought a CDI stator along with this CDI switch box (power pack). Mercury recommends replacing both at the same time because if one fails it can damage the other. I installed the CDI stator according to the instructions included but there weren't any for the switch box. So I just swapped wires, one post at a time. Now I'm back in business.

Solved the problem, motor seems to run good on the hose, I think it will work as well when I test it on the water. 🤞

Worked perfect at a good price. Ignore the reviews about not being like the one pictured, the only difference is that they used a clear potting compound to fill the box, instead of black. You can see the components inside, but they are just as sealed. Looks kinda cool if you ask me. The terminals are labeled correctly and it worked great!

Installed on a Mercury Force 120 early 1990’s model to solve a no spark condition on all four spark plugs. It fixed the issue and has been working reliably during the fall of 2020, and spring/summer of 2021. Still working. Was skeptical because it is a fraction of the cost of OEM. The build quality might be slightly less than OEM. The studs and nuts that the ignition wires fasten to are steal instead of brass. Doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Works flawlessly, boat was only running on 2 cylinders swapped this and now it runs smooth on all 4. Had all the correct labeling for the wiring and everything. Seems to be as of the same quality as the OEM

I had 2 cylinders down on my 115 merc and this CDI replacement has my outboard running with all 4 cylinders again. Price was great and delivered on time.

Purchased to diagnose a problem with RPM dropout when engine is hot. Performed worse than the original switchbox which actually turned out to be faulty. Replaced with a brand name unit and resolve my issue. This unit is of inferior quality to brand name spec'd equipment and I do not recommend it unless you want to chase mysterious ignition issues for weeks.
