Analog Delay Guitar Pedal, Green Delay, Mini Size, True Bypass

I cannot imagine the amount of financial damage these little pedals are doing to the big brands-mainly Boss. The sound is excellent. The controls are smooth. It’s very well built and easy to use. I have absolutely zero complaints. I’ve purchased several of these small petals from various brands. A lot of them were Joyo. Every single one of them, aside from a fuzz/octave pedal has been just about as good as the “real ones”. This review is for the delay pedal. 9/10.

Simple to use and a very good value for the price. It is very small and slim, leaving plenty of room in your setup for other fun toys. There are three function knobs for time, feedbacks, and mix. So very easy to use with one knob per function. This is a cool little pedal, you will need your own power supply however. Over all I think between functions and price this is a cool straightforward analog vintage sounding delay and I love it.

The description and specs listed for the "AFOT" delay pedal are very accurate save one thing: It is not an actual analog delay that uses vintage bucket-brigade (BBD) integrated circuits (chips). I was curious about this claim, so I pulled the pedal apart to see what was under the hood. There is a stacked set of PCBs, and all the core audio components are on the bottom board. I did not feel like desoldering all the header pins to pull it apart, but I could clearly see a 16-pin surface mount IC on the bottom board, which would indicate a PT2399 digital delay chip. And frankly you can't expect anything nicer than that for the price point. Otherwise, it's a really nice sounding delay. And one of the cleanest in terms of repeat noise that I've heard for a PT2399 (especially the cheaper options). There is no option for modulation of the repeats, but again this is a barebones echo device, and it performs admirably in that regard. I did a quick / non-scientific check of the max delay and it did seem to be about 600ms.

This is a very small pedal, probably the smallest one I've used yet. But despite the small size, it has impressive delay, I don't notice much of a difference honestly between this and the full-sized delay pedal I was using. It offers an interesting range of sounds that all sound fairly good, and let you experiment. You can emulate almost any sound you want to express, and this does not degrade sound at all when turned off. Being so small, this can be a bit tricky to press if you're not used to it, but it's a plus this is easy to carry in a pocket and takes up almost no room on the pedal board. The metal body gives this longevity vs plastic pedals. For the price, this is a very nice accessory for your guitar board, and a lot of fun to play with.

This delay pedal rocks! It is easy to use, the sound is clean and the range is good. Honestly, I'm really impressed with this little thing. Packs a punch and great bang flr the buck! Highly recommended.

Nice little pedal, well made solid, I like the color and design. The bottom has a rubber feeling feet and it sits flat. Looks like you can remove it (permanently) to put Velcro on the bottom or maybe Velcro can go over it but then it will only have contact in two small areas. Came set up with a really nice sounding slap back delay. That and a light delay for using with rhythm guitar are the sounds that worked for me. The slap back would work great with country and I found a nice out of the way delay setting that worked well. Doesn't seem the change your tone the switch is solid but loud and tight to push down. No tap tempo on this pedal if that matters to you. I really like it for the two delay sounds I found. I'm going to put this on a small board. Nice value.

The unit I received was just in a box, not in a plastic bag in the box which made me a bit suspicious as to rather it was a return. The bottom rubber pad also seemed slightly dirty. Before plugging it in, I rotated all the knobs. The echo and delay knobs rotated with the appropriate amount of resistance, however the feedback know was very stiff to turn, causing some concern. The case is solid and the graphic design makes it not as boring looking as many pedals. It has a true bypass so it doesn’t color the sound when it’s switched out of the effects chain. It works fine and has a reasonable range on the delay, some pedals though do have more. The feedback in particular can go high enough to self oscillate which can be fun to play with. For an inexpensive delay it’s pretty good. I’m taking off one star for the feedback knob not turning like it should. Hopefully the knob will not go bad in the future.

The AFOT analog delay has great sound and all the control ranges are useful. I popped the back off and it really does have analog Bucket Brigade delay chips which have been reissued in recent years. There no pop when turning the effect on or off, and the noise floor is very low.
