Is the kitchen emperor made from solid Damascus steel or does it have a solid core?

What is the best way and easiest way to sharpen this knife please

That looks suspiciously like laser etched steel, not damascus steel at all. Are you sure it is damascus, if so, how?

They do an excellent range of knives which are not damascus (they are X45CRMOV15) but have an etched pattern on them and they cost less than £30, i.e. less than half the price of these. I have the 5" utility knife from that range and it is excellent and only requires regular honing, like any professional knife. The pattern on the knives in this range is not etched, they are real layers of steel, however, these are not what you think of as the traditional damascus blade which has been folded 67 times. These knives have a solid core and 33 layers on each side which have been laminated onto it; this is the modern method of making damascus blades for kitchen knives and practically every damascus knife you see has been built this way (unless you spend hundreds on each knife, and maybe not even then). These seller has specified that these are "67 layers of Damascus Steel, upper and under 33 layers Damascus Steel & middle part core 1 layer of 10Cr15MoV Damascus Steel" 10Cr15MoV is also known as VG10.
