This lamp is exactly what I needed to help me see my crochet work when using dark colored yarn and/or very small stitches. The light is bright & the magnification is great. Some other reviewers had complained about the pole being missing & unfortunately mine was missing the pole as well. I believe this was due to the box being a bit thin (great for the environment, but not so great for the 27 pound item it was meant to contain). There was a small hole in one side, near the corner & a long, thin, empty bag in the top of the box. Most likely the hole occurred from normal package handling during transport & the pole just slid right out, it's probably still rolling around somewhere in the delivery truck (LOL!). I contacted Brightech customer service through their website & received a prompt & friendly response. They sent a replacement pole & when it arrived the lamp was quick & easy to assemble. So just a minor inconvenience since I was very excited to use it & had to wait an extra week. Some reviewers also complained that the lamp doesn't roll easily. Due to the circular shape of the base, it does tend to want to spin around a bit when you roll it, but it isn't too difficult to steer it straight if you reach down & grab the pole to push or pull it & you can also use a foot to help push it straight. The best part is that it is so easy to adjust. The only part that needs to be loosened & tightened is the lamp head at the very top & once you have it how you want it, you're good to go. The other "elbow" joints don't require any loosening or tightening of screws, just grab the arm & pull it up/down or in/out as needed & it stays right where you put it. I love this! I have a desk lamp with similar elbow joints & that one is impossible & frustrating to adjust with each bend needing to be loosened & tightened over & over until you get it where you want it. This one is SO much better! I am a bit concerned about the light bulbs since they are LED & I know from experience that LED bulbs do not live up to their hype. They usually go dim in less than a year, slowly becoming more & more dim until you can barely tell they're on. The ones on this lamp are supposed to last 20 years, which I find entirely unbelievable. So, we'll see if they stay bright for more than a year & if not, then hopefully Brightech will be willing to replace them. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase & I think this lamp is very much worth the money. With the excellent customer service they offer, you can't go wrong here.

The base is attractive, stable and heavy. The lamp is sturdy--there is no concern when rolling it from one location to the next. The arm easily articulates and stays in place without any wobbling or unwanted movement. The arm stays in place no matter where you position it. It is strong and sturdy. The LED lights are arranged around the magnifying glass for even light with no shadow. You can dim or bring to full power the red and/or white wave lengths of light. The light switch and the light intensity switches are easy to understand and easy to use. The magnifying glass is clear without waves or other irregularities that would distort the view. I would recommend this as a chair side reader / hobby light / for any fine detailed work.

This light is excellent! It’s stable with a heavy base. I use it for cross stitch and detailed drawings. My husband uses it for very small mechanical projects. It has a range of functions including light intensity with both yellow to white light

The box arrived badly damaged, like really badly damaged. It looked as if it had been used in a soccer match, as the ball. It was shipped in the actual product package, with no additional protection whatsoever. Having said that, the product was miraculously undamaged. The box had lots of internal styrofoam packaging protecting the lamp. The base of the lamp is on casters and is very heavy and sturdy. The light is bright and adjustable in both brightness and temp. The magnifying lens is big and positions very easily. The head stays where you position it. This is a great, hands-free, lighted magnifying lens.

I LOVE this light! I had the old version of this one that I bought several years ago and it lasted me about 5 years until the metal finally wore out, pretty good. They have massively upgraded this new version and it is extremely sturdy, much easier to move and work with and made very well. It is the quickest, easiest thing to put together. I have a spa and this light is amazing. It is very bright and has added amber colored lights if needed. Definitely recommend!
