I bought this as a replacement for my mum's broken mandolin. She loves this one because it's really efficient and easy to use (and the peeler was a lovely bonus too). Looks bright and cheerful but this has proven to be a very useful and reliable kitchen tool

For a manual mandolin this is probably the safest one I have used. The blades are easy to remove from the lid. The sliced food is collected neatly in the plastic tray underneath. You have a pronged hand guard and also a glove to wear to help prevent injury. The glove is lightweight so not cumbersome when slicing. The tray can slip when you are slicing so extreme care is always needed (but same with any manual mandolin). Awkward shaped veg are always a challenge and they can slip and you still have the problem with left over bits. A useful device-with care

I received the mandolin slicer that day after I placed my order and upon opening the box I was happy with the quality immediately and also happy that it came with a free peeler.I inserted the chosen blade into the slot on the top of the slicer and peeled on onion, then I attached the onion to the safety hand guard and began to slice the onion using the 2.5mm slicer blade, the fact that the onion was automatically caught in the container meant that there were no tears brought to my eyes. I then proceeded to try grating some cheese using the 3mm medium grater and again this was good as the grated cheese was caught in the container below the blade. The slicer has since been used to prepare salad and vegetables.All in all I would say that this slicer will be used on a regular basis for preparing salad and vegetables and will save lots of time, cut fingers and mess. The whole thing is of a good size, easy to clean and easy to store as everything (apart from the peeler fits inside the container and the lid can still be clipped into place for easy mess free storage. This also means that when it is used again everything will be in one place and ready to use!!I will point out that you have to make sure you use the hand guard as the blades are extremely sharp as proved when it slides through vegetables.I highly recommended purchasing this product over other products as we have tried a few different ones through the years.

What a great device. Every kitchen should have one of these because they make life so much easier.I like my salad and vegetables chopped, diced and sliced and this awesome gadget does it all.Now, there are some cheaper versions on the market and you’d quickly find out why they’re cheaper when you see how difficult they are to use. So, don’t try and save a few pounds, just get this one and be happy you did.In a nutshell, this is a brilliant kitchen device and I think everyone should have one.

flimsy with no use instruction apart from cryptic photo on box. safety glove was very small, child size.works ok for occasional use but only two thin slice thicknesses. Included is a flimsy potato peeler with blade that tends to spring out in use.

Excellent product, I had bought this for my mum and she loves how effortlessly she can slice vegetables and even make crisps out of this slicer! It feels like a premium product including the packaging. Really happy with this slicer overall

Not suitable for slicing ingredients. Like onion, cucumber etc.
