- King Arthur Better Cheddar Cheese Powder, 8 Ounces (Packaging May Vary)

As someone who likes the temper chocolate, and who loves the combination of dark chocolate with maple, roasted pecans and blue cheese powder, I was curious to see if cheddar and chocolate worked well. It does. Of course, most people buying this are going to use it in savory dishes. It would be a great quick addition to Mexican food if you don’t have any cheese in the house, and it’s a practical product to have on hand if you have children who like macaroni and cheese. Also, if you make twice baked potatoes, this powder, with a little milk and butter, or olive oil, would be a yummy filling. Last but not least, you can always sprinkle it on steamed broccoli for a quick , fresh twist and a little extra nutrition.

I cannot say enough good things about this product! I've tried other cheese powders (Hosier) and they were awful. I was about to give up and thought I'd try the King Arthur's. I'm so glad I did! It tastes like cheese not chemicals. It wasn't clumpy like others I've tried either. It blended beautifully in milk and made a super tasty cheese sauce. No more boxed mac and cheese for us. It's also great for quick meals like cheesy chicken noodles. This stuff is a game changer. My family and I highly recommend this cheese powder.

This stuff is amazing. It's versatile, it packs a punch with its flavor, it is super easy to use, and it happens to come from a brand I personally trust. The downside is the price. This is a small container of powdered cheese, but with that being said, we ended up using a lot less than we thought because this product is so flavorful. We primarily use this for boxed mac and cheese in place of the chemically or watered down cheese powder that comes in the box, and it could not be an easier swap. It substitutes in the exact same way (powder, milk, and butter) and really changes the game. We even tried adding this to the powder that comes in the boxes and the difference is substantial enough that, if you aren't concerned about preservatives or don't need that all natural taste, goes the extra mile in making chemically blends taste better and adding enough cheesiness to the less flavorful boxed brands. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the flavor is. I was hoping for something that didn't taste super chemically and carried more flavor than we were getting out of the Kraft mac and cheese boxes. This blew my expectations out of the water. This is more than a cheap cheese byproduct- you can taste the actual cheese. When I opened the container, I was surprised because I could smell the subtle medium white cheddar tang, and now that I have actually tasted the end product, I am never going back. This is a great compromise between the convenience of a cheese powder and the taste of a homemade cheese sauce, coming from a dairy state native no less. While it certainly isn't a replacement for some good quality cheese, it is a step above the quick meals that we all occasionally reach for. If you're on the fence, I recommend buying one container and giving it a try and then deciding if it the price is worth it. For me, it's a yes, but again, the container is small for the price and, if I were less picky regarding flavor, I might look for another option.

Transforming my popcorn into a flavor reminiscent of Smart Pop White Cheddar Corn, this seasoning is a personal favorite. Its ability to enhance the taste is delightful. However, one downside is the packaging; it tends to be messy and difficult to reseal, leading to spillage. While the flavor satisfaction is high, the inconvenience of the packaging can be a drawback. Despite this, the seasoning remains a top choice for enhancing the popcorn experience with its delightful white cheddar taste.

I use this powder to make “homemade” macaroni and cheese, EASY and CHEESY; but, it’s versatile for other cheesy dishes, too! It smells like cheese and is so easy to use! It is clumpy but smooths out easily to a good consistency when added to milk. The taste is a bit salty (but I don’t like salt so it’s probably good for most) which smooths out in dishes. The size of the jar is good because you don’t need much - the flavor it strong. This makes those boxed mac & cheeses a thing of the past - no long list of ingredients!!

This works really well as a replacement for boxed Mac and cheese. It has a good flavor and makes a smooth, creamy sauce.

Excellent flavor and we use it to flavor popcorn. Would also work as a seasoning for many recipes.

Love this product. I purchase it frequently. Love KA as a company and visit their VT location. Hope to take a class there someday! BUT... this is the second time I received an opened jar with opened seal, loose lid and powder covering the inside of the brown envelope it ships in. This time, about half of the product was gone but there wasn't that much in the envelope so- somebody put the lid back on the jar. The envelope appeared to be re-sealed so somebody along the way knew this damage had happened. It's food. Hygienic handling is necessary! The first time this happened I said nothing because stuff happens. This time Amazon could not replace it because they weren't the seller. They did give a refund. What I don't understand is why this package traveled from NJ to CT to MA? Isn't it made in VT? So while I cant say enough great things about this incredible product I hope KA rethinks its' shipping practices. Maybe make and distribute it from Vermont!
