Olicamp Deluxe Mess Kit

I am always on the hunt for better backpacking mess kits. This one is a bit on the heavy side, it is after all stainless steel. The Sierra cup and the lexan utensils do not fit inside the kit, but it does come with a mesh bag to tote everything in, it is going to rattle in my pack and drive me crazy on the trail.I gave this three stars because it is a reasonable product, thus "okay". Finish is nice, seems robust. The handle on the frying pan is a bit of a weak link as it does not lock in place. The bail on the pot is just odd. Constructed of flat metal, it slides up to lock, okay...but it does not appear that it will function well as a billy to hang over the fire, the pot bail is too wide and cumbersome. Seems well constructed though. Function is more important than form.On recieving the product the Sierra cup had a tag on it indicating it was manufactured in India...I do not like to buy foreign made products whenever possible. With possibly the exception of outstanding European ones... Maybe it said on the Amazon page where it was constructed and I just missed it. I will take it in the woods and see how it performs, that is always the real test of any product. I think my Trangia kit is better still.If this thing rattles and clanks in my pack, I will chuck it and see how well it floats.

I really like the quality. the only problem i have is the lack of stackability, but that is covered pretty well by the use of the mesh bag. other than that, i believe the kit is an excellent addition to my camping equiptment,& would recomend it to anyone who asks.

I was hoping for a more durable and functional product than the aluminum mess kits I've often seen. This one easily fits the bill. The stainless steel construction is sturdy and easy to clean. I do wish that it packaged more tightly together, especially the utensils, but it doesn't claim too and I wouldn't trade it for an aluminum one that did. Altogether, exactly the quality I was hoping for at a price I could afford...the perfect combination.

My son loves it, higher quality than the cheap one he had.

Well made and nicely finished. Just a little smaller than I would have preferred, since I am a relatively large person.

A quality mess kit that will be around for a long, long time. You will pay a little more for this versus an aluminum set, however there is no comparison in the workmanship and quality. I higly recommend this product.

Kit is ok. Very disappointed by the plastic silverware.

Little noisy and not everything packs in the kit but it will all pack in the bag. Has done well on trips
