Good keyboard case for iPad Pro
Strong points: There’s a sub-case to protect your iPad when it’s off the keyboard; good tactile feel on the keys; trackpad works well; you can turn the iPad to vertical orientation and keep typing; base is heavy enough to be stable; priced about a third of the Apple keyboard.Weak points: Trackpad is too small; It has a separate battery to keep charged; It’s pretty heavy to carry.I think the good outweighs the bad. Recommended.

Exactly what I wanted
This review is for the ESR keyboard case for the 2024 M4 iPad Pro 13.So, let’s start by saying this case is Exactly what I wanted for my new iPad Pro. The M4 iPad is so new, its really hard to find a good aftermarket case, but ESR seems to have read my mind and made one… a really good one albeit. There are a few nitpicks from me, but overall, this is a 5 star case. Why do want this particular case? Because I want the iPad to have a case on at all times. When it is in the keyboard case and when it’s out. ESR has made a keyboard case just for that. The iPad is essentially in a slim black case at all times, so when I remove it from the keyboard case to game or use as an iPad again, I don’t need to worry about it or have another case on standby. ESR accomplished this by making the slim case with a metal backing, so the magnets from the hinged side lock onto the slim case, not the iPad, which makes the magnetic power extremely strong. Once you snap the iPad on, it doesn’t move nor slide around. You can open, close, adjust the hinge angle without fearing your iPad will move around. Oh the slim case will also accommodate the pencil and it even has a strap that will protect the pencil when the case is closed. Overall, the case is very sturdy, well designed and built. The touchpad is excellent and the keyboard has a firm feedback which I like. Oh, the keyboard battery, yes, it has its own battery, so you don’t have to drain your iPad to use it. Yes it needs to charged, but it is also an USB-C and the battery last a long time, for weeks of use. And No it does not have a battery gauge, which at first I thought it might be worrisome, but guess what, the native battery widget on the iPad shows the keyboard battery percentage!!! This is AWESOME, see attached screen shot! Now, let me nitpick a bit… wow is it heavy. I understand with all the metal, magnets and battery, it will be heavy. I think it’s heavier than my old clunker IBM Thinkpad! But it’s something I am ok with and can live with, for all of its features. Oh, due to the weight, the keyboard does not tip over when you are using it on your lap on the couch or in bed. The weight of the battery anchors down so the iPad is not heavier than the keyboard, which is an Issue with the Apple MK, its so light that it tips over easily. The keyboard, BTW I am writing this review with it as we speak. Why does this keyboard DOES NOT HAVE A DELETE KEY??? Instead there is a screen lock key! why? It’s very frustrating that I am so used to using the delete key and every time I hit it, the screen goes blank! I will have to bring up the onscreen keyboard to use the delete key! Ugh!!! This is probably my biggest gripe with this keyboard! My recommendation to ESR would be to put the delete key back and give us one more color on the keyboard lighting, white. It has every color but white. The closest to white is cyan, which is just a lighter shade of blue! Give us pure white please!Other than that, this is an awesome keyboard case at less than 1/3 of Apple MK price! Plus its 360 protection of the iPad and onboard battery feature, it is definitely a 5 star product!

Great product!
Recently got the new Ipad and was looking for a case and found this one. It is a great case! Feels great and keeps the Ipad super secure. I love that you can detach the keyboard from the case so you can use them separately but still keep the Ipad fully protected. I also like that the case rotates on the magnetic base. This is everything I wanted and at a super reasonable price. My ONLY complaint would be the weight of it. It is definitely heavier than carrying my Macbook Air and that took some getting used to. But to get around that I just use the case without the keyboard when I don't need it so the weight isn't an issue. Would definitely recommend this product!!

Feels Like a Laptop – Great Case
I got the ESR Keyboard Case for the 13” iPad Pro, and I’m really impressed. The keyboard feels smooth and responsive, the trackpad works perfectly, and it’s super easy to connect. It honestly makes my iPad feel like a full laptop. The case is sturdy, the stand is adjustable, and the backlit keys are great for working at night. It’s sleek, protective, and definitely worth it if you use your iPad for work or everyday use. Highly recommend!

Almost perfect
I’m a big fan of this case/keyboard combo for the iPad Pro 13 so far. There are a couple of cons, but the benefits far outweigh these minor things. I have never used the Apple Magic Keyboard, so I’m unable to make a direct comparison.Pro’s:Simple set up, connects right away, and fast to wake up from sleep mode.Backlit keys that you can quickly change the intensity and color.STRONG magnets. I have no concerns with my iPad falling off.Comes with a separate case to protect the iPad when not attached to the stand/keyboard, and can be rotated between portrait/landscape mode.Comes with a magnetic loop to keep the case closed when transporting it, and it covers the entire apple pro pen to protect it and keep it from falling off in your bag of choice.Perfect fit.Very sturdy hinges - stays where you want it.Instantly wakes the iPad when opened or pressing a key.Lastly - the PRICE! Less than 1/3 of the Magic Keyboard. Excellent value for the price.Cons:Weight - this thing is heavy. I didn’t measure it, but I think it weighs more than my XPS 17 laptop.Limited viewing angle. it’s not bad and will meet the need 90% of the time. I do wish it would lean back just a little further.

It’s good, it works but too heavy.
Having both of these keyboards it allowed me to compare them side by side. This keyboard is much much heavier, and not balanced correctly. When trying to use it on the lap, it tends to lean backwards meaning you have to put more downward pressure with your hands while typing. The trackpad is smaller, less accurate, and more “clicky”. The typing experience on the keyboard isn’t the worse, the LED lights are easy to swap between, and easy to dim. From what I can tell the keyboards LED’s don’t go into a “rest” mode when the IPad is turned off, which I can only imagine will drain the battery. The Keys on the keyboard themselves feel okay, nothing amazing and nothing terrible just okay. If you asked me which one was a more quality build I’d obviously pick the Apple keyboard. Now the million dollar question is the Apple case worth $200 more. I personally think yes, the ability to charge both your keyboard and iPad at the same time comes in clutch, and the weight alone comes in clutch. This is closer to my MacBook Pro than it is to an IPad. I will also say much like a the Apple keyboard, holy grease marks…
