Good quality ferro rod

Uberleben hexa Pro is the best ferrocerium rod on the market, my only complaint is 48.00 for one ...Me and I'm sure a lot of other people wait and hope they come on sale for around 30.00 if they were 30.00 all the time they would sell a lot more of them ,I personally have 3 more of them to buy for my knife collection.

The Überleben Hexå PRO ferro rod has been absolutely awesome. I’ve used it dozens of times (much to my wife’s annoyance) just to practice and see how well it holds up and it’s never let me down. Since neither my wife nor I smoke, our lighters always seem to get wet and stop working on camping trips. This solved that problem completely. It’s started fires for us in every condition imaginable, including a heavy, wet snowstorm on Afognak Island during a winter hunt with cold, numb hands. No issues at all just huge, hot sparks every time. After 100+ fires across hunting, fishing, and camping trips, it still performs like new. It’s affordable, reliable, well-built, and absolutely worth carrying. It’s earned a permanent spot in our packs.

Such great products. I have many of the different styles for different reasons. The ones with handles are for around camp. The ones without are what I use for my packs. You can't go wrong with any choice you make. The quality of the ferro rod is superior to any I have found so far.

Was supposed to be 8' in length. It most certainly was not. I had mistakenly believed that Uberliben was a trustworthy company . . . foolish me! You do have the opportunity to learn from my mistake. Good luck friend.

I wanted a ferro rod that would last, and this one feels like it is made for the long haul. It is definitely on the heavier side, both in size and weight, so it is not something I would want to carry on a long hike or while hunting. For home use though, it feels great in the hand and throws a strong spark once you get the motion right. We are still learning the technique, but it has already made it fun to start our fireplace fires. The sparks are hot and consistent, and the rod feels like it could handle years of use without wearing down. If you want something ultralight for backpacking, this is not the one. But if you want a reliable and almost indestructible fire starter for camping trips, the truck, or around the house, it is a good choice. Bottom line: Heavy to carry, but very well built and works exactly as it should. Great for home and car kits, and fun to practice with.

If your really serious, why not buy the best? Use this for your long term survival prep and practice with cheaper ones. Don't cut any corners when it comes to combustion.
