Piece of junk
very shabbily made item; not sure it could cut cooked potato, much less a raw one. Potato moved about a half an inch through the blades, then wouldn't budge. When we applied more pressure to the handle, it bent right off. Am returning it with the potato still firmly lodged in the device.

Great for Large Fries
I was very excited to try this potato cutter. It comes with a large grid and small grid, which are not machine washable.Using the following steps, I've been successful making fries using the large grid:1. Wash then soak the potatoes for a few hours. (Recommended by the vendor and I found that it helps.)2. Cut potatoes in half and cut the sides so they are flat (make it sort of like a brick).3. Make sure the plate and the cutting blade are inserted properly and fit neatly when the cutter is closed.4. Don't be dainty. Pound the potatoes through.I've been making some great tasting fries this way. (Hint: fry the fries once at lower temp a few minutes until soft, rest, then fry again at high temp until crispy and a little brown.)Unfortunately, I've had great difficulty with the smaller grid. It bends under force. If I lessen the force, it doesn't cut. I've tried with two different grids provided by the vendor and the small grids just don't cut it.I still like my potato cutter. It's great for large fries. I wish I could make shoestring fries, but I'll settle for the larger variety. My family loves the fries. This product was provided for review by MIU Color.

Good cutter
This is a nice thing to have in the kitchen - I use it to cut fries and vegetables. Does a good job. One catch is need to make sure whatever you're cutting is soft enough, otherwise the blades may get bent. So, like a big old potato, maybe microwave it a little first, or cut it in half so there's less pressure needed. I don't expect it to last forever, but for the price point it does a good job.

Great service
One of the blades bent on the first one I bought, so I sent an email to let them know and I got the best service from Miuthat you could get anywhere . They immediately sent me another one. For the price you can't beat it.
