Adam Audio A8X Powered Studio Monitor

I bought these to replace some EAW studio monitors I have had for like 20 years figuring that speaker technology has undergone a significant improvement in that time, and I was right. Within 10 seconds of having these on I was hearing things that I was totally missing with my EAW's I was surprised that it was that quick and pronounced. I listen to primarily dance music so bass response is very important to me, and these are fairly impressive, I would not be the least bit embarrassed to line my friends up and nail them to the wall with the bass these things can kick out. I listened to several other speakers at the local music store and was not very impressed with the sound, could have been that the guys was a bit of a clown, but the I found the different distances and locations of the speakers made it hard for me to give them a good evaluation so not going to bag on them too much. I can say I have not had any problems, and they sound great, no complaints, these things are awesome if you can afford them.

Do your research before buying high quality studio monitors. This is not for smaller rooms. I have zero complaints. You'll likely want a subwoofer for rap or some EDM. But that's true with all studio monitors. I use it without a subwoofer due to 2 apartment neighbors, but it's still great for what it's designed for.

My hearing isn't what it used to be but I listen carefully. These speakers really have clarity throughout the spectrum. They are very smooth especially from 1-6kHz. I can't hear much above that. With jazz walking bass, every note is pronounced and very even. Blown away at what I heard. Installed at recording studio along with a full Danley system.

I shopped for a while for my new studio monitors. A producer/engineer recommended these as an upgrade to my Alesis monitors I had been using for years.I had gotten used to switching to good headphones to hear everything.But these monitors, with the addition of acoustic treatment opened my ears to all of the things going on in the mix.I like the fact that I have complete control over these speakers. I have never felt that my mix was delivering something that they could not produce. Very revealing. I have learned to trust them to tell me what is really there. And to tell me what is cluttered. From there I have learned to compensate for what most people listen through. These speakers can actually turn your mix into sound.I have seen some folks complain of them having too much bass or treble. But that may just be relative to other speakers. When you hear the truth it may surprise you.I recommend having a second monitor for hearing what 'regular folk' will hear too. But use these to hear what is in your mix. That is the purpose of monitors, right?

Using lowend speakers for the longest while was okay with me, as I wasn't aware that it could get any better than what I had. Then, finally, I had the money to pick up these bad boys, and may I just say that they are sturdy, thick, and destructive in all the right ways.I never knew of the cold, harsh digital partials breaking through my mixes until now. These strong, lively cones emit flavorful and moist sound waves that can only be described as warm analog-summed tape harmonics. I think I even felt a little belt-wow in there.In the right environment, these bad boys will let you take full advantage of what your mix has to offer your listeners by showing you every crevice of your tune (or whatever you're making) and unload those sick, fresh, compressed amish overtones.ADAM A8X has oscillators.™

Vengo de utilizar unas KRK RPG8, los cuales presentan unos graves bastante notorios, es decir, no ofrecen una frecuencia plana en ese aspecto. No obstante, estos monitores si ofrecen una señalan mas profesional y plana, que es lo que realmente busca un productor musical, es decir, escuchar los sonidos tal como son y no escucharlos de forma maquillada por unos monitores que "hacen más bonito" el sonido.La única pega que pongo al respecto es el embalaje, ya que Amazon envía directamente la caja del monitor. No obstante, estos vienen bastante bien protegidos, sin embargo, las cajas venían algo golpeadas lo cual podría evitarse utilizando otra caja adicional, es decir, meter la caja del monitor dentro de otra caja con protección, ya que son objetos delicados y que hay que tratar con mucho cuidado.
