Decent Sci-Fi. I'd watch it again.
For science fiction, it's entertaining enough. I liked the actors in it and they did well enough for the type of movie. There is one part at the end which is ridiculously unbelievable. I won't give a spoiler, but you'll know it when you see it. Basically, 'how did they go from there, to there so quickly', kind of moment. That's the reason for my 4 stars. For the rest of the movie, I liked it and hope they do a sequel. They left it wide-open with unanswered questions for a sequel which I hope they do. If not, I won't lose sleep.

Rocky Mountains look great—but that’s about it
If you're in the mood for pretty scenery, Anthony Mackie, and giant bug monsters that refuse to climb higher than 8,000 feet, Elevation delivers on visuals. The Rockies have never looked more ominous, and there’s real tension in those aerial shots and escape sequences. Here’s the thing: the story is dripping in déjà‑vu. This feels like A Quiet Place with altitude limitations, complete with insectoid Reapers, fetch‑quest plotlines, and a survival struggle framed more like a side mission in a video game. Acting-wise, Anthony Mackie is solid, but doesn’t stretch far—his performance suits the material, and Morena Baccarin brings some grit. Still, the characters don’t go deep, and their dialog screams placeholder. The Reapers are clearly CGI creatures you’ve seen before—edgy, faceless, and forgettable. Their “won’t cross 8,000 ft” rule is a mystery that the film never solves, so you’re left shrugging along with the characters. That said, it’s breezy enough to zone out with. Fast 90 minutes, steady action, and the isolation of high-altitude life is an interesting setting—even if the rest feels paint-by-numbers. Bottom Line If you need a wooden-block thriller to fill a Saturday night, Elevation might cut it. Otherwise—the plot is familiar, the characters are thin, and you're not likely to remember much afterward. Extra note: Despite its lukewarm reception, the movie has caught steam on Amazon Prime. It’s become a streaming surprise hit, climbing into global Top 5 charts, especially after Anthony Mackie’s rise as Captain America.

Watch
I really loved this movie. Being depressed when I watched it, reality sets in and seeing a possible future becoming like this, brought me back to reality! The actors were great! I have watched this movie several times. Good plot, and maybe a bit too much swearing, but worth it to have. I would recommend! My older boys both watched it {they are both married with kids} and they agree with me about it being a great movie.
