Review: Now Indispensable - One of those things you never knew you needed, but once you have one you can't imagine being without it. I now have 3...one at each desktop in the house. They eliminate the tangled jungle of USB cables, and make it possible to disconnect or reconnect any USB device simply by reaching over and pushing a button. Of course, this also allows you to connect a zillion (okay, maybe only 16) USB devices without juggling ports on your computer and/or small hubs. All ports are powered, and all are 3.0, so you don't need to match power or speed requirements of the different devices to the ports into which you plug them...just plug 'em all in and live your life. It is supplied with wall mounting hardware so you can keep it off your desktop, which I really appreciate. Overall build quality appears to be really good, and I'm not anticipating any failures. I would think that this unit will stay on the wall forever, and any new replacement computers in the future will be connected to all my peripherals with a single cable. Makes me chuckle just thinking about it.
Review: Great Hub! - Great hub! I have a bunch of different dongles for my many gaming peripherals. I love the switches so I can turn the ports on and off. I have a particular headset that won't reconnect to the dongle if it goes into power save mode. I was unplugging and reinserting it multiple times a day. Now I just flip the switch for that port and I'm back in business. It's a little thing, but I also love that it comes with a separate power brick instead of having a huge plug connecter on the end. Makes it way easier to plug into my surge protector. The hub is much smaller than I expected from the product pictures. That's a good thing as it doesn't take up much space. Great purchase for my needs and it can handle all my devices simultaneously since it's powered.

## Features

- 16 USB-A PORTS, TYPE-A ONLY: Sixteen USB 3.0 Type-A downstream ports, backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. This hub has NO USB-C ports and does NOT support USB 3.2 10Gbps or 20Gbps speeds - if you need USB-C, this is not the model for you.
- POWERED HUB, 90W ADAPTER INCLUDED: The included auto-switching 100-240V power adapter supplies 12V/7.5A, so each of the 16 ports can deliver up to 1.1A. That is enough for flash drives, card readers, keyboards, mice and light device charging. Bus-powered hubs stop long before this.
- KNOW WHAT IT WILL AND WILL NOT RUN: 1.1A per port is a light-charging and peripheral budget, not a drive-power budget. Multiple bus-powered external hard drives on one hub can exceed it and drop out - power those drives from their own adapters, and use these ports for data.
- INDIVIDUAL ON/OFF SWITCHES AND LED PER PORT: Each port has its own switch and blue LED, so you can cut power to one device without unplugging anything and see at a glance which ports are live. Plug and play on Windows, Mac and Linux - no drivers, no software, hot swappable.
- ALUMINUM HOUSING, 5GBPS, MOUNTABLE: Aluminum shell for heat dissipation, transfer up to 5Gbps (also 480Mbps, 12Mbps and 1.5Mbps devices), with short circuit, over current, over voltage and overheating protection. In the box: hub, power adapter, USB 3.0 Type-A cable, mounting brackets and screws.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what's the different between the one with the external power adapter and the one without?**
A: With my USB 3 Ports on my Acer TC-780 front panel ports, I can power all four ports with thumb drives. When I tried the same with a Dell U473D Slim Multimedia Keyboard with 2 USB Port I had to use the pawer supply that came with the HB-UMP3 4-port Powered USB hub.

I would advise getting the powered hub because you don't know if your USB port will support enough devices without the power supply unit.

**Q: How many ports can I have active at one time, without overloading the single port of the computer?**
A: actually, while you can theoretically link 127 devices, there is a limitation to the depth or hiearchy you can link hubs (which is 7). In many systems (particularly windows) you may find that the hub controller in the pc can consumer 2 or 3 of those tiers. While that's likely not an issue for most, I've run into a problem when I link a 7 port hub into a KVM switch -- I get an error message stating that the system can not see some devices (because the actual 7 port hub actually contains 2 usb controllers and the kvm switch contains 2 controllers). Suffice it to say -- this is a rare occurrence -- just don't daisy chain a bunch of 4 port hubs together if you run out of ports -- get a hub with more ports

**Q: How long is USB3 cable?**
A: measured mine at about 1 meter. I really like this thing. The two red high-power only ports are oriented 180 degrees from the USB 3.0 ports so you physically can't mix them up either.

**Q: Will using a 7 usb 3.0 hub ultimately put next to no strain on my motherboard because power is being generated from the AC adapter?**
A: I 5 Gigabyte Motherboard with powerful Intel processor, 16 Ram has moor paver than standard PC. I don't think the hub would help. However, some software might. I will look this up in the later date.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Essential Product
*by D***E on April 15, 2026*

My current build could not exist without this device. For 16 3.0 ports, there is no beating this price when you consider the ease of organization and the reliable connection that these provide. My PC is mounted on the wall, and this hub is connected to my PC via a 30 FT USB-B to USB-C connector. The 90W power supply makes it easy to charge peripherals and also doesn't feed off the PC at all, so functionality is all there; the product is extremely stable...I've never had any issues using this. I used to have the 10 port Sabrent hub, and I had the same praises for that...but of course as time goes on, I found new gadgets to play with and needed more slots. I will say, the added weight does feel great to hold, and the material feels very nice to hold, as it's kind of a brushed metal and feels very premium.
