With over 200 later-type Kilner jars in use, we're going to be mightily miffed if Leifheit ever stop making these. OK, the steel's not quite as thick as the genuine Kilner ones were, but it's thicker than those horrible metal lids that Kilner now get made in China for their current production jars. PPerfectly good enough for the job and the seal material is good too. We reckon on re-using each one at least three times!

I bottle a lot of the fruit which we grow, keeping us in stewed fruit over the winter and spring. These lids are essential as part of the bottling. You can't re-use them so cleaning is irrelevant. But they are ultra-convenient and make the bottling possible.

the jars are super - good shape - so you can easily accommdate 3 jars in pot - lids last several preserving seasons - and need to be replaced. Kilner lids were a poor substitute: too thick, with Leifheit you can see and feel that there is a vacuum after sterilising

I have always used these Leifheit metal disc lids whenever I am preserving fruit , they are very robust and easy to use especially if you use them together with the Leifheit preserving jars. Due to the nature of this product there is nothing really that can go wrong so if you are a dedicated fruit preserver this is a product for you.

Thank goodness I can get these have 40 wide mouth old 70s style jars. They successfully reuse too very good better than any others I’ve tried. Kilner aught to still make these.

I have used Leifheit preserving jars and the metal lids for years. They are excellent but the replacement lids are hard to get in the UK. Thanks to Amazon’s contacts I can now buy them.

I've given this product 3 Stars as it looks well made, but despite other reviewers claiming they fit Kilner Jars they did not fit mine. They seem to be a similar size to my original Kilner screw tops, but the thread is different and wouldn't screw down. However; I have been able to return them and I'm awaiting a refund.
