This light is awesome! Its cheaper than any other light of this quality and features. It is good for the plants and there are different color settings. My favorite feature that I use is the 24h timer. The light changes intensity/color throughout the day to match sunrise/midday/sunset/night before shutting down for 10 hours at night.Im using this on a 55gal aquarium. I have not seen any algae build up compared to the old led lights I had that killed my plants.

For the Price this is an incredible light to grow plants in an aquarium. Unless you want to spring for something like a Chihiros or Kessil, this light is the king of budget options alongside HyggerThe programming is a smidge confusing, but once you get it going it works great and I am seeing good growth so far !

I have these in a few sizes, but this is the only one I've actually set up. It's a pretty good value for the functions. Battery backup was on the top of my list for features, most lights with built in timers won't keep time during a power outage but these don't have that issue. A battery is included but it's an odd size button cell so you might want to order a few as backup when you get it, it wasn't something I keep around for multiple other like a 2032, it's some smaller battery I've already forgot the type, 1220 maybe. The instructions are adequate to set it up on both 24/7 or on/off, I've got it running on the 24/7 setup and it's nice having more subdued colors for a longer time period as an accent vs full blast for part of the day, though you can customize the length of all 5 slots. Quality is ok, this particular unit doesn't sit perfectly flat on the tank, it's only a few mm from a small warp but it is somewhat annoying, neither of the longer units I have had this issue when I tested them. Most of the cheapo light bars have a plastic housing, this is aluminum, although it doesn't have heat sinks, but it doesn't really get hot so that doesn't matter. Plenty bright for shallow tanks or for growing rheophytes and other low light plants and it has good color. I think the timer box placement is a little odd considering it's not waterproof, it's maybe 18" from the light itself but it seems like it would be better off further away just to reduce splash since in my case it sits against the bottom of the outside of the tank and I am not gentle with water changes, though I haven't had any issues yet. These are the only 24/7 lights I've tried, all my other lights are on off only, some with manual dimming, running on wifi timers. I live off grid, and while my power system is more reliable than PG&E for downtime, I do have occasional outages or maintenance, and I would lose my mind if I had to reprogram everything each time I shut down the system, so I am really happy with the battery feature.Overall these are great lights for the price, I don't have money for the 2 big name aquatic plant light brands and I think this is about as good as you can get on a budget. I forgot to get pictures of it and the tank is sleeping right now, might add some if I remember.

I have a fairly new set up in a 10 gallon aquarium for snails, 1 betta, and loads of plants. Since I started using this light the plant life has gone crazy. I love the timer functions that simulate sunrise and sunset and it really creates a vibe in my home. The only thing is, I am too old or too stupid to set the dang timers. I tried countless times and was giving up. Then my Gen y daughter came in and fixed it for me in 10 minutes. All that said, I love the light. For the price it is well worth it, in my opinion.

The remote control is easy to use and program. The light quality is great and the timer goes off at exactly the same time everyday.

Light is great! It’s super bright and the ability to program a 24 hour automatic cycle on a light that isn’t very expensive is a huge plus. It did take a bit of figuring out on how to program it. The instructions could be better. I suggest watching the video. They have a QR code in the instruction book to scan to link you to the video. That helps a lot. Also, wright down your start and end times for each time slot before you start to program so you won’t be frustrated as you go. But once you get it set it’s really great!!

The controls are quite complicated to program on this very bright light. The biggest problem that I have experienced is that I haven't figured out a way to dim the light intensity level when on 24/7 mode, which resulted in a MASSIVE hair algae outbreak that covered all of my plants, glass and rocks in a surprisingly short period of time. I have pulled out an entire tank full of live plants 3 times and dipped them in diluted peroxide followed by dosing of liquid carbon to try to keep them from dying due to algae suffocation. I have also removed all of the hardscape and scrubbed it down to remove the blanket of algae covering it as well. I have been doing 50% water changes every 3 days for the past 4 weeks because the algae returns so rapidly. I have even done total blackouts which helped, but once I turned the light back on for 2 hours per day, for the plants survival, poof! the algae returned with a vengeance. I have become a slave to my aquarium, spending many hours per week battling this scourge. It will be a miracle if my plants survive, because they are all currently melting. Once this algae sets in it seems to be very difficult to overcome. I finally resorted to replacing this high intensity light with the old kit light that came with my aquarium and so far the algae has not returned.UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me several hours after posting this review and offered me an upgraded replacement that allows brightness adjustment in 24/7 mode or a refund. Customer service has been excellent. I am willing to try the upgraded light, since I was happy with the quality. Regarding the difficult programming of the light schedule, customer service sent me more detailed directions and is also willing to help program specific times if needed. This company has been very willing to stand behind their product, which I really appreciate. I will be happy to try the upgraded version.
