Dorman 674-196 Exhaust Manifold Kit - Includes Required Gaskets and Hardware Compatible with Select Jeep Models

I have a 98 Jeep Cherokee and this was a perfect replacement for the old cracked original manifold, good quality and no modifications required. The gasket is rubbish so make sure you order a good quality one and I had a problem getting the supplied flange gasket to fit. Getting the new bolts in was a nightmare, A tip for anyone new to this is put the as many bolts as you can in on the exhaust manifold before putting the inlet manifold in place, just keep them loose obviously. Worth ordering the new Dorman bolts to even though my ones were okay.

Fairly easy install on my 1997 Jeep Cherokee. Flex joints are an improvement over the factory unit so that the manifold doesn't crack like my original. Middle of the road construction with OE fit and function. There are cheaper similar units out there, but I wanted to go with Dorman as they are trusted much more than the "no-name" brands. I advise ordering the rest of the manifold hardware bolts while you are at it. It does come with the gasket, donut gasket and lower hardware though.

Nice quality product. Easy to put on and I did not use the gasket provided. It was lower quality. Got a Fel Pro gasket with the steel insert for the exhaust. I did put on higher quality polyurethane motor mounts also since my research showed that the old mounts contribute to the crack manifold problem.

After multiple research sessions on which manifold to buy for my 99 Cherokee with the 4.0, I decided on this one. There were a few negative reviews but Dorman must have cleared up their quality control issues as of May 2015 because the one I received had beautiful welds and installed without any issues. Perfect fit and finish, no leaks, and engine runs so much smoother with a little more power than before. Excellent purchase and time will tell how durable it is but with the flex joints, it has to be an improvement over OEM.

Product arrived and when I put a straight edge against it it was out of true by 1/8 inch. As I could not wait for another I decided to buy one locally by the same manufacturer. When I compared the locally sourced one to the Amazon I was shocked. The one from Amazon looked like it had been welded together in a back room somewhere and in addition looked as though it had been used. I could not believe that these were purported to be from the same manufacturer. The locally bought one worked perfectly and Dorman customers service was great. My advice is use the Dorman one but don't buy it from Amazon. See my picture in product pictures to confirm

Easy assembly. Everything lined up great. Much nicer and better made than stock exhaust manifold. Gasket was included and works great. I bought this for my 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport. Would buy from this company for future vehicles.

Bought for my 99 Jeep Cherokee. I had a shop install this as they gave me a good deal and i wasn't too keen on removing the old one myself. I rarely go to shops, but again, good price so why not right? They said the operation was a success, however, now that it's installed it's making an annoying tick-tick-tick-tick -tick under acceleration. Not at idle, not even at lower acceleration, really just at half to full throttle. I assumed it was an exhaust leak but the shop is a good exhaust shop and they say that the ticking is coming from the rear flex part of this manifold. .... i really REALLY hope that is not the case but they advised that i take it on an extra long road trip to get it nice and hot as there may be a bur from the weld that's causing the ticking, and with it really hot it might burn off or whatever. Also when i shut the engine off it ticks like a time bomb. So quality? I'm going to do my own tests now and figure out if it is indeed the manifold or if there is an exhaust leak. Otherwise it performs fine. Just really annoying that it sounds like a sewing machine sewing glass. Also bought it with the magnaflow hi-flow cat, and dynomax cat back, and new NGK 02 sensors. Not overly impressed with the exhaust, but it's not bad. Slightly more responsive throttle, and fuel economy may have gone up. I'll add a comment when i find out where and what the ticking actually is if it fix it.

Great quality, and well built. I did use both, the intake/exhaust and donut gaskets, with no issues. Perfect fit.

Amazing product great price and quick delivery

Designed to reduce cracking by adding flex joints , three months and about 2500 kms in and it cracked the first time , removed , welded re installed , 1.5 years later and it cracks again in a different spot , so once again it will be coming off . Most likley to be replaced this time ,biggest issue was purchacing from Amazon as i was not able to get warrenty like i would through my local autoparts store , this part has less then 6000 kms on it in total . Very dissapointed in the quality .... Live and learn i guess , at least it was my personal vehical and not a customers . *It does fit properly and everything lines up
