Douglas Laing Big Peat Whisky, 1 x 700ml

I like the popular big, honking, Islays - in particular Laphroaig 10 and Ardbeg 10. I wouldn't normally buy a no-age-statement or blended whisky, but would happily make an exception for this in the future - and would consider choosing this over my long-standing favourites as it is a little more complex, showing more aspects of peatiness than any Islay single malts that I am familiar with.

This is the second time I have tasted this whisky and it does not fail to deliver. If you are a fan on peaty whiskeys then this will always be a strong choice. The colour at first worried me, as I expected all whiskeys to carry that rich dark colour. Once you taste it however, any concerns will evaporate.

They say don't judge a bottle by its label but I did and I can tell you...I was not disappointed! The it has such a full flavour. Smoky without being overpowering. Such a smooth finish on it too. Will buy this again!

My second bottle of this amazing dram, and I had to give it away as a present! First tasted this in 2015 at the York Whisky festival. It's a peaty, smoky drop. Not as heavily smoked at Lagavulin, but certainly close. One of my favourites.

Bought for my father. He loves this whiskey!

A unique flavour profile. As the name suggests, heavy Peat, with a salty finish. Great value on this and would recommend.
